I lent the bike to mate for a couple of sessions - he made a nice video

I think he's got to be the first person I've ever seen who brakes the same way as I do using 3 fingers. Thought I was some sort of weirdo laugh

Bike sounds great!

Thats a personal thing surely. Peppa Pig isn't going to give you the same answer as Giant Haystacks.

Went to aylesbury to see a red one. No touching so couldn't sit on it, they're bought unseen so my interest is on hold.

Looks higher than my panigale though and the fireblade sp they had there was much better looking.

Still not on cycle-ergo.com so can't compare to my existing bike.

I can just about understand a lack of a demo bike (bikes in stock already sold etc) but no touching and no sitting on it?

HTF do they expect to sell any?

It's an R1 not some Desmo or RCV for Christs sake.

The dealer I bought mine from had no bother with my 13 year old daughter clambering all over them.

Maybe time to find a more understanding dealer?

I am really interested in this bike. I've just converted my 2013 ZX10 road bike into track only so I am looking for a replacement road bike and I am torn between this and the RSV4. Ideally I'd get the new RSV4 RF but at 18K it is just too much so I was looking at the "old" RSV4 Factory (new @ 14K) versus the R1 (15K). I don't suppose anyone has ridden both and has any opinions have they ?

Cheers,

Ed
I've just part ex' d a 2013 factory ABS (same as the 2014 model) for an R1 - gets delivered tomorrow so once I've got some miles on it I'll post back.

Go and speak to Sam at "Brian Gray's Powerbiking" in High Wycombe. They have a few in the showroom and will let you climb all over it.

You should have mentioned the RSV4 when we were out and about!

Definitely up for a ride out as soon as the weather clears - got some running in miles to do.

Ed,
No bother.

Doom,
What where you riding before the R1 out of interest?

I bought a Big Bang R1 from there in 2012. Nice guys, Sam has been there for ages.

Lovely bikes.

Only reason I asked was I've read posts praising just about every new bike produced since 1970 as the best bike ever - then you look at their previous bikes and understand the hyperbole - "just sold my 1980 250N super dream and this CB500 is amazaballs etc etc" wink

High praise for the R1 considering your last bike then!

What colour are you getting?

I might pop along to see your bike, what time are you picking it up?

Bloo smile

Ian's bringing it down in the van and picking up the Aprilia - not sure what time though.

Still can't find those pics of the line of RD125's but I'm still searching.
