For those that struggle with Vales moniker, lets put some perspective on it.
313 GP starts
109 GP Wins
Just think about that for a moment.
Stoner was good, very good, but his numbers don't even come close. And VR is still rocking the crowd at 36 years old after 20 years of GP racing.
Love him or not, there's no denying his achievements.
have to agree with that. i loved stoner for his sheer balls out riding aggression. rossi always seemed to be gliding round the track with the bike, whereas stoner appeared to be dragging it kicking and screaming. today rossi showed the balls of a teenager on that last lap and was doing some dragging and kicking himself ,i was buzzing the entire race.313 GP starts

Awesome races. Really good opener.
For those mentioning the ducatis straight line speed they showed the speed trap and I'm pretty sure the two hondas were fastest then crutchlow then it could of been the dukes. I think more than the ducstis being crazily fast I think it was more the Yamaha being relstively slow in a straight line.

I think what's really incredible is the way Rossi has looked at the newcomers and their way of riding and taken it on board and adapted to suit. To make such a fundamental change in the way you ride after so many races and so much success is truly the mark of someone special.
Without wanting to turn this into a love in.... You have to add to this a broken leg (when he had already won it all and many thought he would retire). The horrible crash fest on the Ducatis (when everyone thought he really should retire). The awful Marco incident (a very good friend)..... And he comes back fitter and stronger and is brave enough to change EVERYTHING that had brought him enough success to be the greatest. A true legend.LoonR1 said:

I hope so. Soooooooooo muchStoner
Do we think he'd cut it at the pointy end after his time out? And if he fails, it won't look good on him.
I think he's made is money, he's fine larking around in endurance events but there's too much to loose by a failed comeback...
Discuss....
Does seem suspect getting stoner back in for the endurance. Maybe it was suspected and it was a good way to get him back up to speed for later in the season/next season and the problems just worse than expected with dani. Or it could go to someone else entirely.
Wouldn't surprise me though with everyone else having a ride stick stoner on it with a stipulation that if you do so well then an extended contract and if not see who's available at the end of season.
Itd be a shame to see pedrobot leave though. Yes similar to guy Martin at the tt. He has the skill he has the machinary but something just hasn't tied it all together yet. And as much as hes a bit wet I do like some of his interviews.
