Riding a bike in London must be about as enjoyable as going to the gum clinic.

I once went to the gum clinic

They say it doesn't hurt but you try having a cotton bud stuck up your japs eye

It's like a telegraph pole laced with barb wire.

They then ask you to fill two tiny cups with pish.

Needless to say i can't go when asked.

Your informed if you don't provide a specimen your getting the cotton bud again

After 3 cups of water i forced a piss out but having just had my japs eye fondled it shot 6 ft into the air missing the cup that is the size of a rear brake reservoir.

The lass on the desk wasn't pleased when I planted them on the table dripping wet.

They should supply a funnel I said.

To cut to the point is it really that bad.

I prefer my commute through London more than I do a 'ride out'

Does that make me strange?

Very, but in a legal way

No. It's quite normal to enjoy commuting, even filtering and making your way past the various obstructions that are placed before you.

Unless you don't enjoy commuting and hate ride outs, which would be a little peculiar.

Just out of interest as I've only driven to the outskirts, but how is the fee enforced at the moment for cars. Are you filmed in the city and then sent a bill through the post or is it something you have to ring up and pay before entering the city, like a pass thing.

It's gated for four wheel vehicles, much like any toll road. Major problems have been caused for many people though, particularly residents, as lots of roads have effectively been closed halfway where they straddle the zone boundary. You can buy a pass in advance or pay at the barriers.

My poor uncle was forced to buy a gate to go diagonally across his drive to ensure nobody could cut through to central London that way. He says the worst part is the noise as it opens and shuts 24/7 to allow traffic through.

TBH I can't believe they managed to bring the scheme into force without more of a fuss from the media, protests, etc. Just goes to show where the true power is in this country.

Currently motorcycles pass through along with bicycles, not quite sure how the system will work if they try and introduce gates for bikers, whilst still allowing pedal cycles unimpeded access, but I'm sure they've got a suitably draconian plan to enforce it.

Need to change the title of this thread to "christmas for bike thieves". I hope our insurance doesn't bloody go up.

Any 'Green' tax that forces one to sell a useful vehicle in order to buy something newer just isn't Green.
