Need to know bike speed from engine rpm
Discussion
Any websites out there you could suggest?
Ideally I could enter tyre size and gearing to determine this. Two different bikes with non standard gearing.
Reason pit lane has a 20mph limit with penalty if exceeded. Naturally I'm don't want to incur any penalties.
Motorbike does not have a speedo. I figured if using 1st gear I could work out 20mph from engine rpm.
Race is this weekend.

Would be easier to get a GPS speedo app wouldn't it? Strap the phone to the bike, ride at 20mph and see what the revs are. Do it at 20/30/40 mph to double check.FunkyNige said:

Or do <say> 3k rpm in each of the first couple of gears, and make a mental note of the road speed shown by GPS (or, if it's road legal, a handy roadside speed warning sign), then calculate to rpm at 20mph.Only just checked back the thread, sorry for duplicating the thread i did it on my phone and must have got a bit trigger happy. Anyways ive requested the other ones are closed.
I think i will use a sat nav to determine speed then mark the rev counter to suit. Great suggestion, i can do this in the paddock once the track day is finished the evening before the event.
