Sh suspension?

I still haven't even got to that bit of the manual. Went to take the nasty looking R&G mirror extenders and this happened:

Ah gotcha. Yes will check the preload is for me, standard settings not a million miles from where I need to be.

Going to keep this going as the S1000R thread.

Fitted Evotec axle slider to the front and paddock bobbins, and the Puig frame protectors. They stick out more than I thought they would, but better design aesthetically I think than the R&G or other ones I've seen. The R even ties in with the model smile

Also took those stty mirror extenders off (had to drill the snapped one out - not happy about that!) and fitted the standard screen. It was ok on the M8 the other day, but I'd definitely put the touring screen back on if doing a long trip.

After 10 enjoyable years with my 1200gs and 5 with my Harley VROD Muscle I've decided to sell both and buy one of these.I pick it up in the next few days and am looking forward to it.I have not test ridden-just going off online reviews and positive comments on here and elsewhere.I only do 1000 miles a year or so at the moment so I'm not a high mileage user.

I've bought the sport version and the only extras I have added are the sport screen and the comfort seat.I was going to get the slip on can but I have Vance and Hines slip ons on the VROD and find the noise a bit loud-maybe I'm getting a bit old now!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy it but my only concern was that I bought my GS and VROD after numerous sports bikes mostly to keep my speed down as I can ride to the limit of the performance of the bike I am riding on occasion. If I do that on this bike I could end up in trouble so I need to just be a bit careful and not give in to temptation.

I think if your are worried about the speed I would have left the screen off! I don't believe a naked bike slows you down just changes how you ride!
Enjoy the bike though it's a hoot! Now currently @1100 miles on mine and I love it.

Nakeds might stop you sitting on the motorways at high speeds for long periods but then that is a good way of getting caught and perhaps not recommended. If you think it will slow you down on A and B roads you might be disappointed (or having lots of fun - depending how you view it !!)

Can someone here with a S1000r please do me a favour pretty please cherry on top;

With the bike on the sidestand, can you please measure the distance from the end of both handlebar levers to the ground (so one big and one small measurement). And if possible, with the bike upright (might a be a two person job!), can you measure the height again (one measurement).

I think I may have to modify the garage door width so that my new purchase can fit inside...........

Someone beat me to it with the measurements but
I'm struggling to imagine a garage that you cant fit a bike in - have you bought a house in Hobbiton smile ?

The main metal garage doors are sealed up from the inside (don't ask!) and I can only wheel the bike in and out using the side door.
Looks like the inner perimeter door frame will be getting cut soon!!

What mode you in there? Presume just a small power wheelie?

I'm just in road mode! I kind of don't feel I need anything else.

I used to ride in a Road but switched to Dynamic and never switched back.
Even road in the rain at the weekend and forgot to switch. Personally I find the throttle so linear and the power delivery so smooth that even riding on quite wet roads was no issue (some other people in the group I was with on other bikes did complain of twitching rear tyres).

I haven't tried Dynamic Pro as haven't fitted the plug. Not even sure where the plug is!

+1 for Dynamic mode. Don't bother with Pro as all it does is turn the rear wheel ABS off.
