Yeah it was the salesman I bought the bike from that told me.
Maybe confirm that with BMW HQ. It's possible the salesman was talking out of his hat and trying to maintain in house accessory sales.
Over here, you take the end can off the new '15 S1KRR and they void the warranty. Oh, unless you bought the can through them. :wkers:

Seems to be common across uk dealers according to s1000r forum so it's not just my dealer as they said they don't have any they sell so it wasn't about their accessory sales.

Ahh, so it's a case of " If we can't sell it, ban it!"

So they'll take your money and invalidate your warranty?
I'd like to see that in court!

Surely if you can't add guards then BMW get to sell more radiators - and perhaps bikes if they go bang due to a lack of coolant....
Win win for them.

Gwn, thanks only just noticed the levers! They will have to wait as I've just ordered a ohlins steering damper!

My latest R story is I went to transfer over the Datagag to me (there's prominent stickers over the bike) only to be told there wasn't any! So the weegie just bought stickers!

But luckily for me, I got a DNA kit from Carole Nash as part of my insurance.

I got it from demon tweeks special order.

As for the data tag it is applied free on the bike from new! Have a look over the bike for blue dots.

Fitted the Evotech tail tidy. Probably heavier than the stock plastic part as it's aluminium but oh so much neater. Sticking to a standard size plate.

Looks good, I keep debating on a tail tidy but I think I'm leaving it standard bar the damper and black panels.

Yeah I couldn't stand the hunk of plastic. The Evotech unit is nice, well made aluminium.

It's a slippy slope though, I'm still swithering about the straight through system!

It certainly is a slippery slope! I would hate to think of the money I have spent on bits and pieces for cars and bikes over the years and I've decided just to keep it all in moderation now.
