Anyone familiar with this 954 up for sale in Oxfordshire...

Does anyone know whether the paint scheme is inspired by any particular bike? Can't recall it from any race series.

Thanks,

Mark

Looks like an alcoholic has chosen two random colours and stuck the name of his favourite beer on the side!

No, it's not from any race bike or series.
More likely a misguided custom job using whatever paints were left over or to cover up some crash damage.
If you like it, fair play but I suspect you'll be in the minority.....

Then pay no heed to the braying, pitchfork wielding mob.

I'd have gone with "Special brew" and "Ginsters".

I'd have preferred "Coke" and "Hookers".

I really miss my old 929 now I've almost forgotten the times it broke down. I haven't found anything I like any where near as much in the bikes I've had since. I definitely prefer this paint over the original which I think is pretty awful. It's a indication as to how much I loved the 929 that I had it for 8 years and 40k miles even though I hated the colour scheme. I'll see what it looks like in the flesh but getting an otherwise mint low mileage bike than can be painted is fine by me.

I'm not sure I agree. Logically, sure, too much for an 11 year old bike but looking on the trader and ebay then paint not withstanding it's not a million miles off what's being asked.

I'm not saying it's worth it, I'll not know that until I see it.

Won't that age Blade be the same time Rossi was riding the NSR under Peroni sponsorship.

Relevant, guess bike was yellow before it was crashed/resprayed! Would doubt that mileage, sure a set of Honda discs last longer than 8k.

You'd be surprised.

Replaced my VFR front discs this time last year (ish) and have probably only done a bit more than that and they're cracked already.

They were genuine Honda dics too.

Agreed, I'd want a mint standard low mileage 954 in perfect condition for that money, that's waaaayyyy to much for that bike, I'd say £2k was more like it, but I still wouldn't have it for that.

If you find one I'll buy it off for 3k. Meanwhile... In the real world wink
