The reason the seat is sloped forward is to keep weight over the front ... I wouldn't bother mate TBH.Would I get any negative effects from doing that ?
Get yourself another seat and send it off for re-trim so you can put the standard one back on come sale time.
This is the guy who did mine: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/tophills?_trksid=p205378...
Drop him a message.

My Fireblade has the worst riding position of any bike I have ever owned
I mean ffs there is more room on my 50cc moped!
I was out on my 125 last night and that felt like an armchair compared to that Fireblade
Stomp grips will not fix this problem.
I ordered a set of Harris adjustable bars yesterday that rotate upwards and downwards as well as fore and aft
If it doesn't work this will be the shortest period that I have owned a bike

For me the Blades foot pegs feel far to forward. Set of new rearsets sorted mine out but I rode a mates standard Blade recently and it felt as strange as fookI mean ffs there is more room on my 50cc moped!

But I hear you're a big lad John, oooohh errr
I already have rear sets and have also added extra foam (30mm) to the seat
The biggest problem was that I could not turn the bike as I increased my speed
I had the exhaust scraping the deck to which my R1 never did (I know)
Croft on the 15th May will seal it's fate, (hopefully not mine)

You sure the back doesn't need lifting a bit?? Sounds like it's too low on the backThe biggest problem was that I could not turn the bike as I increased my speed

Why are bikes getting smaller? Average height is increasing globally, isn't it? And the manufacturers must know most buyers aren't MotoGP sized midget jockeys.
One of the reasons I picked my RSV over the similar era (2005ish) Blade and R1 I also looked at was size. They both felt cramped so I can only imagine the newer ones feel even moreso?

I think it needs moving in a touch, Neil McKean warned me it would touch down if not tight againt the swing arm
Sorry mate, I mean the back of the bike, needing lifting up a smidge. If you're struggling to turn as the speed goes up I'd suspect the rake is too long, so either too low in the back or too high in the front. As for the exhaust, that's why I went for the long Arata design...... No grounding issues
