I need some help please chaps.

I had a good tip from Loon a few weeks ago, keeping my arms bent and no weight on the bars which I was trying to do the wrong way. Im trying to imprint into my riding but try as I may Im struggling with it.

Im fine doing it but the problem is my body is constantly moving towards the tank, even at constant speed the slightest bump in the road my backside scoots forward slightly until eventually im stupidly close to the tank. Im constantly fighting to stay in position rather than being relaxed on the bike. I never had this issue on my old bike I stayed where I sat my bum that was that.

So what am I doing wrong and how the hell to I stop this ? Its really starting to p1ss me off now.

I have the same problem and find myself pushing my bum back every now and again. I'd like to sort it without stomp grips or the like. The next bit I can think of is a grippier seat rather than the slidey one I have now.
I grip the tank with my knees but after a bit of riding I obviously forget and relax

Tank grips and seat material ... Had same issue with blade smile

Remember you don't stay rigid On the bike ... Moving around is normal ... Just stay locked in during cornering.

You could get your seat reshaped/resculptured. That's what I did purely for comfort though rather than sliding about.

Are you wearing jeans / textiles? I find that leathers assist with staying where you want on the seat.

Could it be a more fundamental problem, Ie your core strength. To do what you have been recommended requires a certain amount of strength in your middle you are displacing the forces away from your arms and into your wider body using that perfectly correct technique you have been shown. Hence the requirement for a certain amount of core strength.

If you have abs like a washboard then obviously not that, if not try concentrating holding your weight within your midriff area. The only thing that takes then is time and excercise. Oh and don't forget to breathe when doing it.

Tank grips made a big difference for me, try putting some of your weight on the pegs as well.

This is worth repeating. Let your leg muscles and your core help keep the weight off your arms. Make this second nature, your arms are there for fine control.

Been looking at different grips , unfortunately only stomp grips will really do the job . I'll be very happy to be proven wrong as they damage leathers

I've just got new leathers so sod that.

They are making the problem worse but they will get better once I've worn them a bit.

Several yards ago I was lucky enough to do 4 days of css at Jerez . Was the best thing ever , I recemtly sorted a thread asking if they're was a good replacement after having a look around myself and you all explained the situation .
Not the prettiest thing , not the best for your leathers but yes indeed the best out there

Mtb is there a uk distributer ?
