What model r1?
I've just fitted r and g tail tidies on a 07 and a 10 plater1 and they took 10 minutes each. The only faffing with wires was swapping a connector on the number plate light as the r and g one was a bit loose.

Same as Tim says I've just fitted one to mine to no problem at all.

Remember you don't need a number plate light by law, but if you have one it has to work.

Most of the tail tidies only require the wire cutting for the number plate light connection (indicators are pretty universal in connections). Just don't fit the number plate light if that is the case.

Why do you need to cut the indicators ? On the R&G they just push in ? on mine they did.

All the wiring is hidden , you have to cut stuff to thread stuff between stuff and put things in other stuff to do stuff with in other places inside . To be fair I'm sure it's very easy but I am of a legendary stness level .

Looks great though :

Cutting wires on a new bike is a pain, but you can do a good job with minimal skills if you sue the right gear.
Search on eBay for solder shrink wrap connectors. They're pieces of shrink wrap with a solder ring in the middle and you can just bare the wires, stick them in the connector and then heat it with wither a hot gun, blow torch or even a lighter and it ties all the wires together and solders them. No mess, nice and tight and waterproof.

So.. these connectors. You just put the wires in and heat them to make a good joint? I'm having some wiring trouble with an old BMW at the moment and these look like they may save me a lot of hassle!

I don't think these have the in-built solder ring that was mentioned earlier (just in case you were expecting this to be the case).

ETA. You need these http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/926/...
