These have always caught my eye, but i've never ridden one. Why are they so cheap though?

Is that considered cheap in the UK for a Daytona? That seems about right or a bit expensive (depending on what you think about low mileage bikes) here in the states.

Edit: actually running the conversion to USD, that sounds really, really expensive.

5 and a half bags for a 7 year old bike?

Doesn't seem cheap to me?

No i think that is bang on the money for a Daytona. However, compared to other supersports with the same mileage and age you would be looking at another couple of grand on top.

Surely the 500 miles redeems the age though. GSXR or CBR-RR would be a lot more no?

That's honestly crazy money for that year Daytona.

Anecdotal, but I paid 5100 USD for my '07 (with admittedly 15k miles) a couple years ago, and I probably should have paid less but I was pretty eager to get it.

If you're going to spend that kind of money, I'd recommend at least getting the 09+ instead. They made some improvements to the bike that would probably be a better use of cash rather than an older bike with lower miles.

Are you saying all daytonas are cheap or this one is cheap?

In general Daytonas seem cheap to me compared to their competition. I picked out that as an example, partly because that is the one my money would go on.

Mpusch - USA has a totally different market though doesn't it.

I paid £6k for a 2012 with 1400miles on the clock in February 2014 from a Triumph dealer, it also came with a st load of extras fitted as well so I would say it's a bit expensive, a big bit expensive.
The one I bought was the cheapest 2012 in the UK by a good £500 at the time.

Absolutely, and I admit it's apples to oranges. I'm willing to stand corrected if the difference in prices is really that high.

Seems it is expensive then. Means when it comes to properly shopping i can get a better deal than i first thought.

Surely 7 years old it should be a little more than half that.

Triumphs hold their value really well but it's a bit pricey.

I bought my 2012 675R with 1k miles last year for £8k.

I've always thought Daytonas were slightly more expensive, relatively, than the Japanese bikes and obviously less than the European ones.

As another point of reference I bought a 2006 model with 7k miles in March 2014 for £3900.

I held out for a while before finding that one near home in the end - keep looking, soon you'll find a good one at a good price when someone needs to sell quickly.

Incidentally, when I was looking you couldn't find any under £4k with under 20k miles, so mine was a decent deal. Now prices have dropped and the cheapest are about £3k I noticed a couple of months ago.

I absolutely love it but I haven't gelled with it like I have previous bikes - but a recent accident hasn't helped - reset me back to basics.

There is no denying though the engine is superb, and it's really nice to own something a little different in my opinion.

I just wish the seat didn't tip forward - the only thing I would change - give me a small flat seat so it's easier to prevent yourself sliding around, and putting too much weight on your wrists!

Yeah I can agree with that to be fair, I think I'll invest in some tank pads this year for better grip, I'm 6'2" and being leaned forward I do feel it in my wrists on long rides.

But I love how chuckable it is, when I took it out for the first time after a year on a CBR400RR, I couldn't believe how well it changes direction and flicks from side to side.
