...to do a wee tour round Mull, Skye, up through Ullapool and back through Glenshee. About to leave and sun is shining in Fife. But forecast to pi$$ it down every day from PM in Oban onwards, plus gales, ground frost and possibility of snow on the hills frown It's half way through May ffs. Ah well, maybe I'll get the first few hours riding without waterproofs. God I hate the weather in this country. I can't remember the last time I've been for a ride and it's been dry and even remotely warm.

That is all...

I can't remember the last time I saw rain!

(However still don't have a bike to ride yet!)

Yup, it was wet...and windy too, and sleet, and hail, and just a wee bit of snow! But when the rain did stop we stopped to take photos - so it looks dryer than it actually was. We ended up riding with waterproofs on the whole trip as it never stayed dry for more than half an hour.

100 wet miles down, and waiting for the ferry to Mull from Oban. The rain had just stopped as we pulled in to town, so it looks drier than it was.

On to Mull and the long way round to Tobermory.

Tobermory, and a bright spell before the sleet started!

A scenic spot back on the mainland beside Loch Sunart.

Waiting on the ferry to Skye. Seemed the rain always stopped when we were waiting for a boat! At least we weren't the only folks about to hit the rain on the Skye..

On the ferry with the bikes strapped down. While most of the cars get inside under cover the bikes were out back with the buses frown

Another couple of hundred miles later and stopped at Kyleakin for the night.

Next day, another few hundred miles and a sunny spell at Gairloch.

...and another at the harbour

Nice view on the way up to Ullapool.

...and another.

And the sun comes out when we got across to the East coast and the Dornoch Firth. We were then off through Inverness to Aviemore for the night.

The final day was absolutely miserable, so we just suited-up and rode without stopping for pictures. But about 1000 miles from Friday through Monday for me. My riding buddies had actually come up from Norfolk so this was just the middle bit of their longer trip.

...and I didn't manage to get the knee down once frown
