Booked a track day on the above date.

Anyone in BB likely to be interested in going?

Going alone, as very few of my friends are bikers, and those that are do not want to get in on the action!

Price is £130 all in.

I'll be there on my Ducati 916. I'll drop you a PM.

How do you cope with the noise restrictions and their poor way of measuring your exhaust dB?

Good question Loon!

I haven't taken the Ducati to Castle Combe, last time I was there was on the R1. At the moment it has a 50mm Termi system on it which is pretty loud, it failed at Oulton until I'd warmed it up and even then it was on the limit. I have some DB killers to stick in which hopefully will do the trick but if not I have a pair of standard end cans to go on.

Is swap them now as standard is better than a choked noisy exhaust. Even road legal cans struggle there though I've heard.

I really want to try a track day. Has anyone hired a bike at Castle Combe? Not sure what companies deliver to that circuit.

Thanks for the info smile

Pretty good price since the bike comes with new track tyres!

I'm pretty certain Mat doesn't do Castle Combe. He tends to mainly do the No Limits days as he also runs a few of those at the same time.

No need to do Castle Combe when you've got much better choices.

As mentioned, their noise restrictions are absolutely ridiculous. Half the bikes I own on standard cans apparently won't get pass their noise test. That's enough to put me off not going there.

I didn't have problems with ny GSXR 1000 with a full Yoshimura. To be honest it's a great track for cars but not so much bikes. I'm doing Combe because I know it best.

my bikes on the list of "won't pass noise test" even with a standard Exhaust on and knowing just how stupid they are with nose testing I can't get on. Shame as its my local track

Done my first track day there Wednesday. Really enjoyed it. Will do one again as soon as I can so might be there!

My standard 03 R6 was 103db. Some of the other people struggled to get through, they are pretty strict about it! Only 12 on track at a time so plenty of space on track.

The noise nuisance order Combe was issued is a real pain.

True there are better tracks but it's the closest one to me and the only one I can do without an overnight stay. It's still a 2.5hr drive each way though!

I have seen plenty of 916/996/998's on track there so I know it will pass the noise test. I may well switch the cans in advance though to save messing about on the day.

Was thinking of doing this date. Don't want to fit my standard cans to my R1 if its going to fail anyway! Do you know what a 2005 R1 puts out DB wise in standard form?

Mine tested at 96dB so you will be fine.

Thanks! Was it under similar test conditions? 3/4 revs at 1/2 metre from the exhaust?
