I wonder what's suddenly clicked into place for lorenzo?

The bike, his head?

The old man the other side of the garage leading the championship.

Rossi was top man last year and start of this year and Lorenzo looked a broken man.

Look at him now , the lorenzo we all hate is back , cocky arrogant smug strutting around like a cat that's just killed something just for a laugh , yet this is the lorenzo that wins races makes championships.

VR, JL, and Yamaha are executing so well. Their experienced professionalism is really showing through this year and delivering the results.

The mighty HRC appear fragile.

Agree with Adrian, Lorenzo has grown up since winning the championship and Rossi just knows how it works, he went through his pain at ducati.

The young MM needs too learn to take the points, and as all racers know only too well
you have to take the high's as well as the lows doesnt matter if you in a factory team or sat in a gazebo on a gerry can.

What is going on with them Honda's like?
Good question, there is something wrong with the chassis. They seem to be tucking without warning. Being Honda they will never tell us what is going on but clearly there are issues. MM is giving the impression that he doesn't trust the bike 100% scratchchin

Isn't it a combination of tyres, set up, suspension, rider feel, interpretation, engineers & also the competition? I think Yamaha have more of those ingredients working together now, helped by the economy rules, which seems to give a power advantage to Ducati, that her than being Honda's usual tour de force?

Speak for yourself! Ive always liked Lorenzo regardless of how he comes across, for me he is perfection on a bike, lap after lap precision.

Wasn't it Marquez and Crutchlow who were both on the Hard front tyre? And both of them lost the front? Seems that he hard might offer longevity but perhaps it's down on outright grip. So it'll work once the medium users are having to dial back because of tyre wear but I'd think mid race it's just not up to snuff.
Couple of interesting things I think from today.
Lorenzo is definitely back. From a long period in the doldrums has found his rhythm and is really stepping up to the plate. Excellent for the series.
Marquez. It seems the rest of the field have got the measure of him and are taking the fight back to him. His response now that things are not going so well is very telling. He seems to begetting very ragged and failing to consolidate solid points rather than binning it in an attempt to win it or bin it. Maybe he needs a little dose of maturity and guidance, being the HRC standard bearer.
Ducati. Fantastic to see their revival. Yes they might be benefitting from generous rules but it makes the spectacle all the better.
Hope the resurgence continues and we have a good 3 way, 6 rider battle.
Bradley Smith. Out performing the much favoured Espargo and thank heavens for that. From the portents of doom that he was on his way out at T3 he's putting Espargo in his box on a regular basis. Good on him.
Redding. Fist season learning curve? I hope so, the lad has too much talent to fail now.

This.

Except I think MM just needs more MotoGP seat time & Yamaha are putting the best chassis by MILES on the grid.

HRC are also being led by a 21 yr old who may have won two championships but that achievement does not a good development rider make. I also think that there is a lack of race engineering in the garage too.

Winning teams are made up of a fast rider that finishes regularly, one that does lots of laps to gather data. Even better if they can communicate what they feel when changes are made. A great data engineer who can interpret what the traces mean and then a great engineer who can work with the data man and decide which route to take with the bike. Then you need a suspension guru and a tyre man. Oh and not to forget a mentor to coach the rider and maybe a dietician.

Lorenzo openly admitted that he was lost when Ramon Forcada was not at the circuit on Friday and that he fully expected to get 3/10ths back when he returned on Saturday. He did this and more.

So its not just one thing that's missing at HRC currently. IMHO of course.

Why wouldn't Honda change back to last year's swing arm that obviously suited marquez?

This new one is costing them valuable points and gaining them nothing.

Mugello looks like an amazing place to go watch a race. Been saying for years I'd love to go and I definitely will some day but I fear Rossi will have retired by then and it just wont be the same anymore.

I do feel sorry for smith. He constantly proves himself even with pol having the factory chassis. I can't help but get the impression that cal is 'safe' in moto gp yet Bradley's always one mistake away from the boot.
What a season though so far. I really don't mind who wins it as long as it's close and good racing, although obviously Rossi winning would be something special.
The only bad point is all the bad mouthing the commentators gave Valencia this weekend....I've booked my first euro Trackday there and feel like I've made a mistake now damn them!

I think the only problem Bradley has is those who moan about him always see him going backwards in races. The reason is because he's a great starter, perhaps consistently the best on the grid. He always gains places, then he has a bike/chassis that isn't as good as those around him so naturally he will be passed by the factory bikes. His target would be 7th (behind the 6 factory bikes) and he's gone better in 4 out of the 6 races so far (8th, 6th, 6th, 8th, 6th, 5th). And 6th (7th if Pedrosa hadn't missed races) in the Championship. If he keeps it up he can poke anyone in the eye.

I just can't help but think that if there's only one seat to stay at tech 3 at the end of the year pol will get it regardless of where he finishes

I went last year, wish I'd gone this. It's just totally brilliant. Nothing can really put it Into words

Need to get there next year.

Judging by the crowds, the surge to the podium and the general ambience, it looks a spectacular Moto GP to visit. The slightly partisan crowd wink might play a small part but I thinks that's part of the attraction. Passion is hard thing to create.
