I'm not surprised he's had to bodge it, Arai make the worst visor mechanism known to man, those bloody cheap plastic tags always feel as if they're about snap off.

I must be one of the very few who like it. Easy to get visors on and off in split seconds. Never had a problem with it.

It's easy once you know how. Generally the people who don't like it are the people that don't know how to use them/break them.

While waiting for a replacement holder set, the arai rep loaned me a smoked clear set.
New part came a week or so later, arai rep changed the sidepods and broke the new ones !
If an arai trained rep can't do it right .....

That's looking great again John! Did you and Aky do most of the repairs?
I've done it Andy, did you see it at Mugello?
I did frown Bloody impressive rebuild! You probably know your way around the R1M better than most Yamaha mechanics now smile

From our race day last Friday. Despite wind, sandstorms and rain, we claimed outright pole position, 2 class wins and outright fastest lap in race 2 (supersport 600 & superbike 1000's race at the same time).

Top: Mahmoud Tannir (Lebanese, our rider)
Middle: Ibrahem Al Sharidah (Saudi Arabia)
Bottom: Fahad Al Gharabally (Kuwait)

So, out on his own he's the fastest thing round the circuit but when actually racing I'm guessing he's getting murdered down the straights and held up in the corners? Ah the joys of racing against people with 50% more power!

Why isn't he on a litre bike going for the outright title?

Yes he does get a bit frustrated when held up round the corners by the 1000cc bikes (especially when the 1000cc bikes are more stock then superbike spec).

Budget stops him getting a 1000cc bike and currently the UAE Championship is for 600cc bikes only, the 1000cc bikes race under "invitation".

Mahmoud has learnt a lot through battling the bigger bikes in Dubai and in Qatar.

Next weekend could be fun as I am helping run 12 S1000RR drag bikes in Bahrain (pictures to follow).

I looked at that picture and didn't realise that the top bike was a 600. That's bloody good going.

Had a nice ride out on Saturday through the Forest of Bowland up to the Devils bridge.
Since passing at the end of last year and picking the bike up in December im trying to get out as much as possible to build the confidence.

Saturdays interesting moments were, sliding the front wheel on some mud in a layby, getting evil looks off an unhappy sheep, flicking the engine cut off by accident and wondering what was broke for the next 5 minutes and flooding the engine from chugging up a hill behind a slow car and cyclist that I couldn't squeeze past.

Looking at the state of that road, I think you should've bought an off-road bike.

Three of us took a day off today. About 90 miles circular route Oxford to Towcester and back via Buckingham and Bicester. Stopped for an excellent lunch at the Super Sausage on the A5

That's fking brilliant!! Haha, Derwent TT!

NSR has a few scalps! Averaging 84mph anywhere on a GSXR 1100 is good going! Big old beasts!
