The one I've just fixed must be nudging 5k to fix so far.
I don't think there is a problem with supply this year...Plus you get a free TD here or abroad a watch, nice shirt and a few other bits and the chance to get the paint blown off you on track by WSB and Moto GP riders
5k to fix? I knew there was a reason I don't run one on track!I don't think there is a problem with supply this year...Plus you get a free TD here or abroad a watch, nice shirt and a few other bits and the chance to get the paint blown off you on track by WSB and Moto GP riders
I can thoroughly recommend the R1-M exculsive trackdays. I gate crashed the one at Silverstone last year and helped myself to lots of orange juice, cake, freebie Yamalube visor wipe thingies, more cake, coffee and watched Mr Lowes (Alex or Sam - not got a clue) backing one into the corners like a fool and BN melting in the southern heat.

Sounds interesting, but it's £5k more than I want / can afford to be paying out to repair one.
The same lads HP4 Carbon cost roughly the same to fix when he barrel rolled it at croft right infront of my eyes. I thought you said you were not going to ride it on track anyway.Jazoli said:
Oooooohhhh missed this, are you hoping it'll make you faster?
Nothing's going to make me faster, other than going back 40 odd years and learning to ride properly. Biker's Nemesis said:

And there's another reason why I can't afford to ride an expensive bike on track. Gavia said:

I'm not surprised he's had to bodge it, Arai make the worst visor mechanism known to man, those bloody cheap plastic tags always feel as if they're about snap off.
I must be one of the very few who like it. Easy to get visors on and off in split seconds. Never had a problem with it. New part came a week or so later, arai rep changed the sidepods and broke the new ones !
If an arai trained rep can't do it right .....
Despite breaking one previously (my heavy handedness) still feel they work well and with experience, easy to change visor while still wearing helmet.

Cheers mate, I'm old and fat but I've been doing it years and love it, loads of places for taster days, depends if you've done any enduro or offroad riding before, if you haven't try Dave Thorpe offroad school, and if you have try ady smith or mick extense all are great but Dave Thorpe is best if you've not tried offroad beforeLoyly said:
A good showing for Suzuki. What is the route, is it still navigable in the same format today?
The route is still doable but it's the riders who are not. One of them is dead (burnt to death after crashing his M5) and most are going to be hitting 60 years old in the next 3 to 4 years.legzr1 said:
Oh, know exactly what you mean. Got a few war wounds myself and totally agree on getting old and going back to those days - most of the quick riders were still hungover from the Sat night so us young and slow 'uns had to take advantage on the way there as there wasn't a hope on the way back!
It's was Macca (lad you spoke to with R1 at Chollerford a while back) who introduced me to the likes of Zappa, Toot et al.
A real life, real time biking education worth its weight in gold.
Great times.
We had heard about Zappa and them lot a couple of years before we met. They hung around westgate road on a Saturday doing wheelies and burnouts ( think Mad Max) and did their stuff around the Durham/hartside are, they were all also from Newcastle area so seemed well dodgy to us lot. It's was Macca (lad you spoke to with R1 at Chollerford a while back) who introduced me to the likes of Zappa, Toot et al.

The first clash on the road came May 1st 1994 (the day Senna died) we had been to the lakes and stopped at Hartside. When we came out there they all were, fkn GSX-R's of all colours and shapes, paddock jackets over leathers, straight through pipes etc etc, while us lot looked like we'd just stepped off a 500gp grid.
I was on a demonstrater from Ian Bells After sticking my exup head on into a car a month before Aky was on his Fireblade, rest of the lads had fireblades, 600 honda's and what not.
I set off at the front and stopped there until not far off Hexham when Aky came past me sideways on the brakes and hit a telegraph pole. Snapped thigh, punchered lung and a mangled hand that is still fked today.
That was our introduction to them lot.
