Here is one of my bike some time last year. I've done nowhere near as much riding as I'd have liked this year, getting a late start to the season and then the bike having some sort of malfunction part way through July, it's not been right since. I had been thinking that the head gasket has gone, but speaking to a mechanic he thinks it's more likely that the cam chain tensioner has skipped and the engine is now slightly out of time. No nasty noises though, so hopefully all the valves are in good condition. It's off to the garage this weekend, should be ready for a pickup later next week, hopefully fixed.

I'd love to get on a few more rides through September and October before putting the bike away, I can't wait to get back out, every time I've been out on a decent ride this year I feel like I've come on in leaps and bounds. Right when I was looking to get out and enjoy the August evenings the bike gives up on me. Pah.

The tensioner has failed and the chain has slipped a tooth do you mean?

I know the feeling mate. I sheared a bolt in the head two weeks ago trying to remove the tensioner. It is almost utterly inaccessible, so I've got 90degree drill heads, screw extractors, stud extractors, bolt extractors, the lot, but may still need to drop the engine.

So no riding, and sadly not a glamorous end of the bike's final season on the road.

It's been the same for me. I rode much more last year. This year, my Honda was off the road with an indicator fault that took me ages to fix. Then I bought the Triumph, and it ended up back at the dealership for ages having the fan fixed and just now, new indicators. It's severely limited my chances to take it out. Next year should be better.

I've got one of his on my previous model Street and can vouch for the quality of the products.

Very nice Scott, the missus is hoping these are still on her company car list when renewal time comes around.

Thanks Dave. I'm made up with it ... I've had the original Sciroccos and Corrados in the past so it feels rather cool going back to a coupe again. This one is rather rare as well that took a lot of searching in this spec!
