I bought one new in 1976 smile

nerd That one has a US spec rear mudguard, not standard UK fare - and the UK bikes didn't have reflectors on the down-tubes below the tank.

And only pre-'Kermit' green for a road bike. The race bikes had been green from at least the early 70s; I remember painting a [not very good] picture of Yvon DuHamel on his race bike ('Kermit' green bike and leathers) at school, and I'd dropped art by '72 so they were certainly using 'Kermit' green as a race colour by then.

I bet that is much more fun to commute on than that wheezy old R1200RT. They do look good in those colours too.

I'm no expert but I believe she started off as a 1976 U.S. bike and was originally poo brown in colour. It's now got the twin disc set up on the front wheel and even with that the stopping power is a little interesting, God knows what it would have been like with the single disc yikes

My FIL has spent a whole load of time and money getting her up to standard so I'm chuffed he trusts me enough to take her out. I'd be going stir crazy otherwise not being able to get my bike fix, can't wait to get something of my own. Trouble is there is a list of bikes I need that I probably won't be able to sneak past the missus laugh

I'm only schtum because this one is on loan from Bahnstormer BMW whilst I decide if it's more fun to commute on than the wheezy old RT. So far it's been considerably more fun in every department but tomorrow's commute will be the acid test. I've found every time I gain something with this, I lose something else over the RT. Nothing's ever bloody simple is it?

Good day on this today though. I'm starting to think the RT is a bit like trying to have a fk buddy. It's nice to have something that does a job for you but after a while what you really want is something you enjoy spending time with for the sake of it and dont mind your mates seeing you on.

My Schuberth C3 Pro cracked through after a rather hard smack being thrown 10m from the initial impact at 40mph. Knocked out for 45mins with no memory of the incident, but it saved my life and from more serious injury. Great helmet. It works! Flip front remained locked and allowed paramedics to easily remove the lid with less risk to my head/neck. Will happily get another.
So now we have proof of at least one thing an R1200GS is no good at. It cant shove cars out of the way or leap over them in a single bound, bloody useless bike.

GWS chap.

A smile
I think being knocked out was for the best given that half of London's west bound commuters have now seen your junk.

Proof that helmets save lives! Glad to hear it did its job and you're doing ok, proper product testing in unfortunate circumstances.

I swear there's truly no dignity when you crash! Was there really any reason? FFS.

Looks like the flat track TZ700 of which Kenny Roberts said "They don't pay me enough to ride that fking thing!". smile

The red one is a CX500 turned sideways...

You take it easy man, get yourself better.

Now remember before you were knocked out you agreed to sell me the SP-2 for £1000?
I hope you've not forgotten about it with the knock to the head.
