Jeez, even if someone thought it was a good idea, upon seeing the finished product you would definitely not go forward with it!

Errrmm scratchchin me?

Being quite a few years past wanting to play racers or wishing to dress like A Power Ranger I can honestly say it's tbe most satisfying bike I've ever owned. Comfortable. Eats the miles. Handles as well as I need. Massive torque. Sounds nice (to me), and I love the looks too, althought I accept it's an acquire taste. And it's not a Harley wink I could have bought a new R1 and had enough change to buy a Ducati Scrambler, but I am delighted to say I have no regrets whatsoever. So, I guess I am the sort of person that buys them.

Obviously I prefer mine smile Half way round a wee tour round the West Coast and inner Hebridies where it more than held its own in a wee group with 'conventional' tourers.

The big mudguards keep pretth much all of the road much off. Mine's been out (regulary) in foul weather on all sorts of roads with mud, cow pats, sheep crap and everything in between. I've never done more than hose it down with some foamy stuff, hose it off, then wipe the whole thing down with some quick wax, chrome and all. I don't thnk I've ever spent more than an hour and a half, includig if I do the wheels.

No, really, they'll notice biggrin
Try taking the frame and swingarm covers off. They drag the whole bike down. ( I ditched mine) Then with a few graphics she'll look nice.

Gawd, you right. Will do and report back in a few weeks time. Meanwhile, I need someone to tell me which slicks to buy as I am now even more paranoid frown

In order...

Dunlop K106- k108 (not sure on compounds)
Metzeler Racetec K2 & K1 depending on track & temps
Pirelli Supercorsa as above

But, why the obsession with slicks?? I'll guarantee you'll be as quick on things like the Bridgestone R10, Metzeler Interact RR or Dunlop D212 GP's
And if you're going to go all out on track, get the standard Ohlins set up properly. It's really not that good despite being all shiny. Make sure your springs are correct front and rear, get decent oil in them and the levels set right and a decent valve kit.

Awesome, thanks Steve. Suspension on RSV #2 has been done by MCT in UK. It was stripped. Front was revalved, new Ohlins springs at 10mn. Rear, stripped, shaft jet, new oil, gas and spring.

Will PM you with other questions to stop spamming thread. smile
