A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 4)
Discussion
Fear not, it got a bloody good wash as soon as it got home, then dried and it's not sitting in the garage with a dehumidifier running to get any leftover water off it. It likely won't leave the garage for another 7 or 8 weeks now at the least, by which point it should be warmer and the salt will long have fecked off. I've just had a look under the bike, no cat.

I took my new GSX-R1000 K9 out for a quick spin this morning. The roads were dry (if dusty in places) but cold so I didn't go wild with the throttle, lean or cornering speeds, but it was nice to get a little bit more of a feel for what it can do.
The K9 - that'll be the fiercest of the GXSR 1000's then! All puns aside, that's a very smart looking bike. Compared to the old SRAD 600 you can see just how far bikes have come on in that time. It looks a lot better for having the twin pipes removed and turned into one nice Akrapovic. I expect I'll see this one around at some point.
Put clip ons on my speed triple, largely because I can't leave good-enough alone and I don't know what I like (at under 1 year with a licence I can't try things without buying them!). I like them in the corners and the reduction in wind-blast when going fast is nice, but I think the original bars are going back on as they're much better in traffic. At very least the clip ons seem to want more cam on the throttle tube, as it's a bit uncomfortable going through full twist. Pretty though, apart from my turquoise bracket and bugeye mirrors

The original alloy frame T509 Speed Triple was available with the option of clip-ons or bars, following on from the 750/900 'modular' Speed Triples.I always preferred the look of clip-ons but hardly any were sold and were dropped from the range.

It was hurting my back so the regular bars are back on already! Doesn't help that the seat slides you forward so your knackers bang the tank I always preferred the look of clip-ons but hardly any were sold and were dropped from the range.
