Been a very good day today, a dream realised....You'd never think just a couple of years separate these two..
Looking very good Bryan! Congrats! I hope the weather picks up so you can get some decent saddle time. Does much need doing to the RD500?
Love the RD a true race rep, it was The Daddy in the Eighties.

My word that is a thing of beauty! I can see why you needed to churn your stable to make way for it.

Nice, I couldn't sleep the night before picking my RD 500 up back in the 1980's. What sort of rear calliper is fitted to it? Looks like a R1 One.

I do for all of us Pete.

Its not as nice condition wise as my 350 but that has evolved over a few years, I will get the 500 to that level but ill do it all as I go along and continue riding it, main thing is its all original, everything is as it should be, aside from the caliper BN mentions, I already have the caliper/torque arm etc to fit...badly need a seat cowl but they are silly £££.

@Andy XRV, Yes, I have managed to keep the KR1, so thats a huge bonus.

@MT ... no signs of damp so far!

@BN I dont think ill sleep for some time yet...

Thanks all.

Was glad to see my 1098R today after some winter TLC that included amongst other things a full suspension refresh, wheel refurb, Ventureshield, rear header heatshield, and ceramic coating the exhaust.

Thanks, I was a little unsure about the effect ceramic coating the exhaust would have by eliminating the 'shiny bling' of the exhaust; but I am very happy with the overall effect. I think it makes the bike look more modern and compact. Heat management is significantly better (which was the main reason I had it done).

I was at motodirect yesterday, they have some lovely bikes just randomly placed in each room!

is that a trade or retail establishment ?
Trade, they're importers/distributors for Arai, AGV, Dainese and various other brands.
Had to be trade you don't leave bikes like that open to being interfered with/shop soiled in a standard retail showroom! smile
I mean certain retail shops (here in London in particular) need to have huge signs on the expensive bikes telling people not to just casually sit on/touch them.

You say that but there were still fingerprints all over them. There was an H2R there absolutely covered in fingerprints so I bet there's a few people tried to sit on them too.

So traders are the same then.. at least they're less likely to drop them off the stand.. you'd hope! wink

Reminding myself of a classic story/rumour of the customer dropping a brand new 916 in the Carnell Milton Keynes showroom in the 90s due to the advanced design of the Ducati side stand cut out switch i.e. none just a spring loaded stand

After a morning riding bikes on glorious dry roads, spent the afternoon washing them again. Suzuki is washed and ready to be sold on, when the weather warms up.

Beautiful bike! Was there any problems fitting that tank grip over ventureshield? Want to do mine but worried heating the tank up for application might damage the ventureshield.

Thanks. The stompgrips on that bike are almost 6 years old, and there is no ventureshield underneath it - only on the fairings and nose of the tank.. And you don't heat the tank up for stompgrip application... just stick it on.
