Looks like you're getting a move on there. How fast do you think you were going? I love riding on the continent, as speed limits are just ignored.
I'll take a guess at 56mph.
Oh, that's a let down, I was expecting much more on a road like that, especially given the speeds quoted in the past.
I think it's called "pushing the envelope"......
But at a "gentlemanly" pace.

And in 4th gear. Is he on a 125?
Postman I think, delivering the "envelope"

I am as sad as I have ever been in my life by the tragic death of Ian Bell, I've been going there since 1981, the help, friendship and advice I have been given over the years by Ian and all the lads that work there cannot be bought.

3DP on tour, somewhere en route to Portugal...

That's a cracking shot, jealous as hell.. touring bikes are great on the autoroutes and m'ways but when the roads get more interesting, you cant beat being on a sports bike.

I do like the MT range of bikes especially the MT10 but the first I would do would be to paint those wheels black, it looks as if a 19 year old spotty yoof has chosen the colours having been inspired by a 20 year old ZXR400 off eBay

Test rides on MT10 and Tracer this morning back to back with a mate from dealer in bexley. Both the guys at the dealer very friendly and helpful showing us round the bikes and giving us a tenner to top up the tank on the MT10. smile
I'd tested the MT09 before so the tracer test was to see just how different the two bikes are, the main reason was of course the MT10 test ride.
Took a trip down to brands hatch and back for the hour they gave us on both. Great test ride on both bikes
The MT10 engine really is great and really isn't short on real world performance on the public road with loads of low down go. Standard exhaust sounds surprisingly good too.

Ive no doubt the MT10 is stonking to ride but it must be the ugliest bike available at the moment?

Much like the S1000RX thing, all the plumbing , rad and oil coolers of these "converted" sportsbikes like gipping in naked guise, Id have the Tracer anyday...or even better, the speed triple, at least the engine looks like it was intended for a naked bike.

Just caught this earlier on the ITV4 TT programme, very sad news, RIP.

It's awful for the family and guys at the shop. I've not been as regularly as you, but been in a few times over the years when in the area and it's always been a pleasure. They're never pushy, they're always nice, just a nice old school "family" shop.

Ian loved the Isle of Man and loved his racing, to see him come back after his accident in 2004 showed how much he loved the sport. Very sad.

You are correct on all if these,. It's stonking engine wise but truely ugly and ultimately you feel a bit detached from the riding experience despite being able to go st quick effortlessly, which i put down to RBW throttle and crappy riding modes, none are brilliant on the mt10. I got back on my speed triple afterwards which looks a 1000 times better and has a much more connected if a bit slower ride. smile

I wish! I did in one of the runs we did, but not one that made it into the final video (which went live today – I can't promote it on here but you can probably find it easily on YT!). R8 is super fast – it'll go sub 6-secs to 100mph I reckon. Had it for a long weekend (and went on the launch last year) and it's a deeply impressive and characterful thing. All the 'Audi is boring' claims are just pish...

I had a drive in my friends V10 convertible during the week and walked away very impressed, Audi have made so user friendly, however once you get the engine really spinning it just takes off, we were a bit limited on the A roads around Oxford but it is a super quick car.

I think most of the negative comments around the R8 are from people who have never driven one. It's a very impressive car.

Lol, can't work out how you got there!

I was lost around East Lothian the other day. I han't realised how nice some of the villages are.
That's the disused rail line from Leadhills. You can access it straight off the main road, but it's loose gravel and fist sized rocks and quite steep for the GS, but a decent off-roader would have no trouble at all. Once up there it's all very level and easy, runs for just over two miles before you have to re-join the road.

Not far from me, I've done it on a Tenere 660 and an XT350. Fair play for doing the steep bit on a GS
