Just get some long nosed pliers and work the screw from behind the fairing.

I've tried hammering a bigger socket in. It goes in lovely then just rips it up.
By 'in' do you mean 'on'? Can't really see much damage to the edge on my phone so forgive me if you've tried this, but looks like a 12 point socket would fit over that confused

Why will it strip the thread? It might do on the bolt, but that's only going in the bin anyway.

I just don't envisage it ever getting a decent grip of the fker to turn it. It's bonded on

small pair of mole grips to grip bolt head with a piece of wadding between fairing and grips to protect the fairing

lots of plus gas or such like

may be cook's gas lighter and gently heat the section of casing behind fairing with fairing protected by welders gauntlet and twist with mole grips

confusedconfusedconfused

Dremel a small slot in it, get a small cold chisel and whack it round with a hammer or dremel again and cut/grind a flat on one edge get some decent mole grips locked on it and twist it out.

Smash the plastic around it and it should be easier to get a good grip around the shank with mole grips

How do I get this bd out.

I've drilled a lot with lots of luck previously but after a drill piece shattered taking a nice chip out my fairing and nearly blinding me (yes I'm a tt always wear safety specs) I'm hesitant to drill any more. Especially as it's threaded into the frame.

I tried one of those easy out thread things. It laughed at it and chewed it to fk.

I've tried hammering a bigger socket in. It goes in lovely then just rips it up.

I've plus gased it and left it to sat a few times.

How do you get it out without damaging the fairing ... Further frown

I will never own another Honda cheap nasty ste. Took me 30 minutes to whip my dad's daytona fairing off and do and oil and filter all in. This always takes me two fking days.
Loads of ways to get that off mate.

1) Use a bolt/screw extactor properly. The drill bit only shatter because of user error. Use a auto-centre punch so it can bite, and take your time.

2) Use a hacksaw to cut a line down the face. Then use a wide "blade" type screw socket and a ratchet. You can get better leverage. The line should be deep enough into the face it won't tear.

3) Tap a larger "Irwin type" bolt extractor.

4) Cut the head off and use a stud extractor.

5) Cut the head of, file it to a flat edge and use a pair of molies...

I could (do?) go on!

You need to start cleaning out these threads and copper greasing stuff by the way. You've no fking luck.

Agreed. It's the pricey piece of plastic underneath that I'm more concerned about further damaging. It's all well and good saying cut the head off it. But could get costly very quickly with my ham fisted approach.

With most of the suggestions so far, that's what's going to happen anyway.

If it's bonded on, then you're drilling it out come what may.
