You saw Alan's LC then, the white one with red stripe... The money that's gone into that is eye watering
The 500 TDR is one of my favourites
...I see that at most southern meets Ryan, I heard recently someone had managed to spunk £35,000 into their LC..maybe more! The 500 TDR is one of my favourites

The TDR is a wonderful thing, he's running a dry clutch on it now as well...

I do like the Indian. I kind of struggle to tell Chiefs and Scouts apart of that vintage unless they're side-by-side; but I'm guessing a Chief (and not a Big Chief)?
and if it's 1922, would it have had a front brake from the factory?
I'd say that's a Scout, doesn't look like a big'un so I'd say it's a 600.and if it's 1922, would it have had a front brake from the factory?
And I don't think it would have had a front brake, but can't blame someone for fitting one!

An old Indian is something I'd love to be able to own one day.
As a side note ... Did you catch that `Harley and the Davidsons' series on Discovery I believe it was??
Were Indian really as big a baddie as the programmes tried to make out?

I caught an episode when I was in the US a few weeks back and did comment to the wife that Indian weren't exactly being portrayed well. From what I've read (and in particular 'The Iron Redskin' is a pretty definitive book, but a bit heavy going) no, they weren't the baddies. I can't recall who was being portrayed, but Hedstrom the designer and Hendee the business guy and original bicycle factory owner read as decent guys trying to build and develop a better motorcycle. Were Indian really as big a baddie as the programmes tried to make out?

I was going on the size of the barrels, looks smaller than our sv 978cc Enfield but could be wrong!
As an aside, if you ever fancy an old Indian, the good people at Yesterdays have many, including this beaut
Spa, 1983,my mates Kwak
This was at a time when this section of track was still a public road.
My first ever foreign trip on bike.
We went to Assen gp,followed by a few days in Germany then onto Spa for the gp the following weekend.
Great trip,a group of lads,most of us teenagers,foreign countries,bikes,beer,laughs
IIRC bikes that went, Mk 1 guzzi le mans,GS 1000,Z 1000 mk11,Z1R,Z650 (2)Z750 (pictured)LC350 (2)

Thanks for the comments. It is a 1922 Scout 600. I struggle with the left foot clutch, right hand gear change and manual ignition advance/retard. From new these have a left hand throttle however this one was converted to right hand.
I really ought to show it more but it does't get out much. I ride it to the end of the road and back!
No idea about the front brake... Ive not had it from new
