More details please !2.7 Twin Turbo Audi V6.
Not used on the road (but plate on the back suggests the original 'bike is an E-plate)
Standard front forks
Fuel tank filler is in such a position that you could use it as a front foot peg and the exhausts have been modified so it no longer ejects straight onto your feet!

F'kn around with the RD500 this afternoon, had the carbs cleaned/rebuilt and now I have more problems than I started with.
My near neighbour came round on his so I could make a comparison with fuel/cable line routing etc and whilst it did help me correct one thing, the problem is largely still there, he casually mentioned his bike shakes the front wheel sometimes and asked me to take it out and see what I thought, first thing I noticed was how low it was on the back and that it steered like a chopper, damping was also non existent..It also "white lined" over every rut and furrow in the road.
On the way back, coming back down past 90MPH I just slackened my grip from the bars and it went into a brief but very violent tankslapper, it got my full attention anyway.
I know from some of the old roadtests the stability on some bikes was reported as marginal but somethings up here..Rear shock first suspect and then maybe the tyres...Metzeler ME33s, I couldnt find a date stamp but they must have been discontinued a long time ago?!
How cool that you have a neighbour into bikes and 2t in particular!! Mine is a miserable old bd, ex civil servant. Stupid old git. If I am out late-ish, I always try and take the LC now..

New toy! Husqvarna something or other...
10 minutes later, top of fell.
Dirtbiking feels like something that might get very addictive.
I'm jealous, much as I love living in Bournemouth, I hate the lack of good riding and clogged up roads we have around here. I can ride in the south downs or jurassic coast and its alright but still not as good as somewhere less populated. I've been toying with the idea of buying an enduro bike for a while now but it's a good hour or so to my closest lanes that are worth riding and I'm not sure that will be much fun on the 250/300 2t that I want.10 minutes later, top of fell.

Hiya David, bloody hell it's hard work. Went from Corney Fell down to the Bootle trail bike area and then back along the coast. Totally underestimated the fitness required.
I'm done riding for this year, will have to resort to the gym for bike fitness, I was speaking to the others a couple of weeks ago and we were wondering where you'd got to patchb said:

It couldn't really be less populated where Dan is in the UK! he's 60 miles from me but I'd say he was a local! we are very lucky to have some amazing roads on our doorstep, literally, with about 10 speed cameras in 4000 square miles.Edited by Jazoli on Saturday 29th October 19:26

Yeah the idea behind getting one would be to eventually enter some enduro races, obviously doing some practice days first, but it would be nice to get it out on some lanes on winter weekends when theres no enduro events on. It's something I'm still looking into, Holeshot motocross are just across the road from my work and they always have a good selection of 250 2t's in. West Lakes is great, just takes a while if you actually want to get to civilization.

Nice bike id like a bash at that. Dirtbiking feels like something that might get very addictive.
Id imagine you can be miles away from any roads, towns and no mobile signal in places like that.
Presumable people carry a basic tool kit to bodge things while out riding. What do people do when they break down and can't bodge it or fall off and break something that makes the bike unusable ?
Do you just find a local farmer to help get the bike back or something ?
Random question I know. Its not like being half way round a trail centre on a mountain bike, miles away from the car. You can always push or carry it back. I've had the pleasure of that and it wasn't nice.
