Found this fantastic photo whilst looking for something else.

Kingston Racing Motors in Olinda Terrace, Leeds spring 1975. Various stuff including what looks like a Eastern European 2 stroke and a BSA Rocket 3 in the background. That 356 would be worth a bomb now!

Porsche is showing as still carrying that REG. Colour is now red.
I bet the current owner would love that pic

A friend of mine has always fancied a British bike that was registered in his birth year. So when this little Tiger Cub came up he snapped it up. It was fully restored as a trials bike with the later 67 engine which I understand is far more reliable.

Happy days

Looks like he's about to ride it into the Armco!
Was about to make a comment like 'real men' in those days but actually bike racing is one of the few sports where the protagonists are as hard as they were 30-40 years ago

I am slowly warming to the idea of having something that leaks oil all over my garage floor so I'll never say never. biggrin

I must be getting a bit nostalgic because I've just bought my first English side-by-side shotgun which dates back to sometime between the two wars. The right bike from that era might tempt me one day.

Saying that, this is very nice but at the moment I still like having both my kidneys wink

Was looking at that place's advert in Old Bike Mart earlier, they have three cammy Nortons for sale (CS1, that one and a Monthlerey Manx) but a 'cammy' Velocette from the same era would be 1/3rd the price of that and not make your fingers white from vibrating hehe

I can't even claim nostalgia for half the ste I have. I wasn't about in the 1930s but when I found out that Royal Enfield licensed a clock for a year or two I had to have one which now sits on our mates piece, so be careful if you ever buy a BSA or Enfield gun, you may work in the opposite order biggrin

Some lovely pictures there thanks for sharing them.

I'm back home in Scotland for a while and took my grandson to the Scottish Museum of Transport at the Riverside in Glasgow

Wall of Bikes:

There were two there that I used to have when I was a lot younger (not the actual bikes but the same models)

The Matchless G80S and the Ariel Arrow 250cc( I had the Ariel Leader)

apologies for the terrible phone pictures.

You know you're old when two of your old bikes are on a museum wall.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what this is?

Some sort of magnet linked to a sensor to say the seat is loose, or fat bd on board?
Got one on my seat. Bike won't start without seat on!

6 Degrees in Central Fells and Sunny, also known as summer in Scotland, so went out for little blast. Slicks are a bit dodgy this time of year, so maybe time for a set of adventure tyres on the Hyper.

Typically for an alarm, if your bike doesn't have one the seat might have been switched for one from eBay / a scrappers

Had a blast on this yesterday. Super impressed, i thought it was going to feel slow after getting off a 1000 V2 but it's really not as bad as people make out. Obviously it doesn't have the overtaking grunt so need to use the gearbox a bit more but I don't think thats a bad thing. My bike is only a toy so having to work it more to get the best out of it just adds to the enjoyment. Handling is absolutely perfect, rock solid, loads of feel and really confidence inspiring despite the greasy november roads. Also way more comfy than my tuono at motorway speeds.
I think I might get a 600, I never thought I'd say it. Only thing is I'm 6'4 and I couldn't get my legs tucked in to the fairing so I think I'll have a go on a zx6r and see if thats any better.

I'm 6' 4" and quite comfortable on my '07 zx6r, though I've never ridden a CBR to compare it to.

Good to hear your positive comments.

I've been seriously thinking about buying one to replace or join my 20 year old blade, similar performance to an older Fireblade which is more than enough for the road, plus most seem to owned by more mature owners so plenty of low mileage used standard bikes for sale. £4000 seems to buy a minter. I'm also considering an R6 or a 675, most seem to think the Honda is a bit less extreme. I'm only 6'8" so these supersports are the perfect size for me.
