Is that a nuda ? My ant for one of them is very high
It's the Arch Nemesis of the Nuda, a Duke Hyper. Never got to ride a Nuda but looks like a lot of fun and the BMW engine probably more reliable than the Duke. It will be interesting to see what KTM bring out next year in the space, the spy shots of the new KTM twin not really doing it for me.

Had a blast on this yesterday. Super impressed, i thought it was going to feel slow after getting off a 1000 V2 but it's really not as bad as people make out. Obviously it doesn't have the overtaking grunt so need to use the gearbox a bit more but I don't think thats a bad thing. My bike is only a toy so having to work it more to get the best out of it just adds to the enjoyment. Handling is absolutely perfect, rock solid, loads of feel and really confidence inspiring despite the greasy november roads. Also way more comfy than my tuono at motorway speeds.
I think I might get a 600, I never thought I'd say it. Only thing is I'm 6'4 and I couldn't get my legs tucked in to the fairing so I think I'll have a go on a zx6r and see if thats any better.

I'm only 6'8" so these supersports are the perfect size for me.

I'd assume this is the only comparable KTM...Never got to ride a Nuda but looks like a lot of fun and the BMW engine probably more reliable than the Duke. It will be interesting to see what KTM bring out next year in the space, the spy shots of the new KTM twin not really doing it for me.
2014 690SMCR - Took it out for a lap round snetterton and realised how high up you are on a sumo and how soft I had the suspension set so pulled right in and back out on the K5 1000.

Snett not ideal for those or the Hyper methinks. Cadwell is a blast though. Aprilia also have a super motard cross like the Nuda and the Hyper that looks kinda cool. Finding that I prefer all of these to riding superbikes on the road, so I can keep my license. 2014 690SMCR - Took it out for a lap round snetterton and realised how high up you are on a sumo and how soft I had the suspension set so pulled right in and back out on the K5 1000.
Added a piccy of the Aprilia.
Looks like a lot of fun.

Good to hear your positive comments.
I've been seriously thinking about buying one to replace or join my 20 year old blade, similar performance to an older Fireblade which is more than enough for the road, plus most seem to owned by more mature owners so plenty of low mileage used standard bikes for sale. £4000 seems to buy a minter. I'm also considering an R6 or a 675, most seem to think the Honda is a bit less extreme. I'm only 6'8" so these supersports are the perfect size for me.
reading PB on the bog last night and Michael Rutter was testing a 1985 GSX-R 750 against a modern GSX-R 750, the new 750 was quite a bit faster around the track but what surprised me was that the 1985 GSX-R was only 1 second a lap slower that a new CBR 600 RRI've been seriously thinking about buying one to replace or join my 20 year old blade, similar performance to an older Fireblade which is more than enough for the road, plus most seem to owned by more mature owners so plenty of low mileage used standard bikes for sale. £4000 seems to buy a minter. And todays bike is the Suzuki Katana in various disguises:
Taken at motorcycle rallies around Scotland in the late 1980s
This one was mine,
Sorry but I feel all of these diluted the Katana name/radical styling, especially the 650 (which at the risk of upsetting I think yours is). Suzuki even used the name for the teapot (also in the 1st pic) and a scooter!!Taken at motorcycle rallies around Scotland in the late 1980s

Saying that, I do think the GSX750ES fairing really suits yours. (eta - The faired one wasn't yours but I think it suits the style, just not the name).

Yep, the bottom GS650 Katana was mine, and I was quite taken by the faring on the other 650 too. Saying that, I do think the GSX750ES fairing really suits yours. (eta - The faired one wasn't yours but I think it suits the style, just not the name).
The 650 Katana, it was a fine bike, a little heavy for it's size, but it handled well and there was a vast difference between it and the "normal" GS650.
I have had both and the GS650 was a big let down after having the 650 Katana, they were almost completely different bikes only sharing the GS650 name between them.
The tuned engine in the Katana was much more lively and at least 20mpg better in fuel consumption, it was hard work to get the Katana down to 50mpg and I struggled to get much more than about 35mpg out of the GS, I can do better with my FJR1300 than the GS650.
The Katana was slightly quicker than the RD350 LC YPVS, the guy that bought the Katana from me had a 350 YPVS, in fact the first night I bought the Katana he offered me £300 more than I had just paid for it , I ran the bike for 18 months and then sold it to him for a good profit
I had a 300 mile one way commute to work and the Katana handled the run well, the tank was just a little short to do the run on one tank full, it took around 6 gallons and the tank held a little over 5gallons, the GS650 took 10 gallons for the same run, and the 3 gallon tank was just a little tight for the bit between Inverness and Wick (109 miles), I was usually getting home on fumes, even keeping the bike down to 50mph!
There has only ever been 2 bikes I have regretted selling and one was the 650 Katana and the other was an IT465.

I read that too and thought the old GSX-R did well. Was it on new tyres though? surely not period tyres? Just goes to remind us that a 100 odd bhp sports bike from 30 years ago was a pretty quick thing in its day
I'll have to look at the article again but it may have been on AvonsAlicatt1 said:
