tank range wont be a problem in the UK...!

Keep us updated with your progress.
Don't count on that, Dad had one, heading to Mallory, 'should make Exeter Services if we don't go silly' until an Integra Tyre R tries to unsuccessfully prove his car is faster than said Firestorm for a 10 minute spin - needless to say we were looking for petrol before Exeter.

Another time I thought I'd missed him stopping on the M5 until I realised I could just see his mirrors immediately behind me - he was slipstreaming as his fuel light had come on and the distance to the next services was 21 miles, the most he previously maxed with the light on was 18 miles.

He carried a tow rope under the seat.

Otherwise no fuel worries and a great bike.

I've said many times, treat the CCT as a service item, they are not expensive but fail regularly.

Nice one, I had an early model in red. As stated by many range wasn't great around 60-80 miles before reserve IIRC due to combination of thirst and small (15L?) tank, but a good bike otherwise and I presume yours has the bigger tank anyway?

Mine was faultless until I high-sided it into the hedgerow yikes but even then it survived with minimal damage, although I swapped it for the 916 shortly afterwards.

This has prompted me to get mine out of my storage unit and get the bike up and running again. Not the best picture, as it's heading off to the repair place first thing in the morning, so no point unloading it. Glad I started exercising properly a few months ago and am now two stone lighter than I was in June. Still expecting to ache like hell and not manage more than 5 minutes in the bike before collapsing and unable to breathe.

I don't like that type of bike, they hurt you, lots......

As an aside I have bought another bike to complement the R1, pics to follow tomorrow.

Getting muddy just adds to the fun ( well I find it that way while mountain biking) it's like being a kid again.

Enjoy

Very user friendly to ride, quite soft off the bottom but less stallable. Quick up top end and will rip your arms out if you let it, but can ride them off the torque nicely.

Great bike just not a lot of engine breaking compared to TLRs etc!!

I got made redundant on Monday which isn't ideal but it has given me time to start refreshing my pipes. Only done the cans so far, I think they look much fresher with a good polish up and new stickers. Link pipes and headers next.

Buy as much gear as you can afford, be prepared to change gear a lot and make the clutch your closest friend but for DIS-engaging the engine. Then just have fun, its the best way to spend a wet weekend.
