Looks like front mudguard is fitted on wrong side of fork stem or is it bent?
Very cool resto!

Definitely fitted wrong.

The two tabs go up inside the hole in the fork crown.
...I did say I had one or two jobs to do!

biggrin

Cheers..

Fitted a new head gasket last weekend and took it too Rothbury, it pissed down all the way back, thought I'd better give it a clean before it dissolved into a pile of rust.

Im guessing you had what they call a Fizzy Lemon paint scheme John?!

Not the most stable of things I remember, ill fit a steering damper maybe..biggrin.I managed to get knocked off mine (my fault of course) by a Redifusion van and ,as I remember it then and now, the handlebars hit the bonnet of the van and skittled me down the road but the van didnt touch me, very lucky.

The poor driver took me home with the bike in the back where my Mum gave me a major blasting as I was supposed to me playing in the local park but was around 4 miles away after cycling through the town to see a mate...I must have only been 10 or 11.
Yep, it was Yellow.

I was living in Yorkshire when I had mine (garthorpe) my Dad was a Forman at a steel works in Shorpe so One day I decided I would peddle there, he caught me half way there (it was a Saturday, half shift) and followed me all the way back.

My Mother went mental while he just laughed. Got kept in for the rest of the weekend.

Are they as quick as my fading memory recalls ? Mine was sat in the garage a week before my 17th birthday 3 days before me and my dad went to court for me driving his car under age frown . He said I would go to borstal and be banned for ever but things where different back then biggrin . I got 6 points and my 17th bith day arrived and I was on it smile.

I remember traveling down the m1 after I had past my test on the way to pick a big bore kit up ( never ran well) with my old man behind on his Goldwing 1200, he clocked me at 105mph and bked me. I guess the speedo was out but he thought it only did 60 biggrin

It's already used quite a bit in motorsport. The roll hoop for some F1 cars are made using it out of titanium for example

Glad I started exercising properly a few months ago and am now two stone lighter than I was in June. Still expecting to ache like hell and not manage more than 5 minutes in the bike before collapsing and unable to breathe.
This rings a bell with me. First few times out on my enduro and I was sweating bullets and gasping for breath. Over the summer I took up running, dropped over 3 stone (down to 12) and thought I'd be breezing it. Wrong. I found out the hard way there's fit, then there's enduro bike fit.

All of those bikes look amazing, but i am not convinced by the Brough!
Of all the 'reimaginings' of classing bikes - Triumph with the Bonnie, Norton, Indian etc., the Brough is to my eyes really the only one that totally misses the mark, and an ugly SOB to boot. I don't know what the actual V-angle of the original motor was, but I'm guessing something just over 45 degrees. The motor was a significant part of the original bike's character with a 'tight' V. This new thing with the gangly 90 degree V and fresh-air in between shares absolutely no visual DNA from the original.
The J.A.P. engines were 50 degrees

It'll do 90 Ish with my fat arse on it. It has a mild tune, head skimed etc.

I've never heard of anyone having any success with the 175 big bore kits, it's not fast, doesn't handle or stop well but I love it, if I'm gonna kill myself on any bike it'll be on this one.

Its a YBR125, in the fastest colour, black...........

Its a 5VY R1 hiding under the cover in the garage hehe there's a crap pic on a previous page somewhere, and no there's no way its getting ridden in this ste, I just have to make do with looking at it in the garage and fitting expensive mods to it! I have the YBR too but I have no intention of riding in sub zero temps with salt and leaves everywhere even though it is pre-stted up!

Nice! Use the YBR though!! - I'm riding my Vision 110 all year. No power and no brakes and no worries on crash damage. Zero consequences confidence building device in st conditions.

If there is a clear day I might use the YBR and have a potter round some back lanes, its just too cold for me and I hate it, I have no need to use it to get to work as its a 10 mile run down a very quiet (at 6.30am) b road and would take longer than it does to drive once I have faffed around moving the car that's blocking the garage doors and getting all the kit on, plus the car has a heater and you don't get wet smile

Took a few piccies at a bike meet, just down from my hotel in Riyadh today.

Out of the 25 or so bikes, at least 5 had dodgy tyres.

Body armour must be warn on the outside.

Biggest bikes have to be ridden by smallest riders.

Quite a few bikes had these crash protectors.
