Interesting bike smile more importantly is that proper secure motorcycle/scooter parking? Or is that in a cycle spot?
In London if they installed this the wardens/attendants would still issue you a ticket for parking on the pavement- bylaws in london prevent any vehicle doing this.
this was the spot i saw it

For aggro you've probably got the correct Loon but the wrong Dunlop.

Wouldn't touch superbike factory with a barge-pole, heard some horrendous stories - one from a guy on here(?).
May nip to the Kingsley place on the way home from work one day. Sorry but I'm new to the biking world, me and my sister have been to superbike factory to sit on and have a feel of some bikes I fancy purchasing after eventually passing the mod 1/2. They seem quite nice and both of us will most probably purchase from therein the future via finance. They seem to have decent prices too. What's the issue with them? Is it a one off kind of issue?
Sorry, read this over xmas, and did not have time to respond.

I've heard of three stories, one from a close friend, one from on here, and one of my own experience.

First one from a close friend was that of his BMW, it involved poor QA of the bikes - involved the chain coming off on the ride home after picking up the bike. Also, a number of other issues regarding things that were not checked and serviced - brakes and electrics. After-sales was equally poor by all accounts - refused to acknowledge that their service and QA department had made a mistake and missed something. He took it to a 2 man band service in trafford and had to chuck a few ton to fix it (mostly man hours). That was last year, or year before.

Second one on here, was engine failure, and something else. Was a black ZX6R - never heard the end of that story. That was this year.

Third one, my own experience - the bikes appeared to be somewhat man-handled, most have them appeared to have been dropped or sent down the road at some point. Scrapes etc. High miles etc. I was not enamoured with their customer service - they wanted to know my salary details and credit options before even entertaining me. That was last year.

The finance deals appear to be somewhat appealing to get people with low credit onto a bike - but the quality of the bikes appear to be ebay/gumtree buys/ex-track bikes.

However, saying that, they may have improved their game - i've not been down for a while.
Sorry about the delay as busy busy busy. Thanks for your reply!

I've been back to Superbike Factory and you're absoloutly right with regards to the quality of some bikes. There was a handful that was obvsiously setup for track days. At the same time it's possibly a decent source if you know what to be looking out for in a bike and like me you have poor credit. I recently took a ride to that Honda shop in Manchester, it does seem like a good place to buy from if serious about buying but I was a litte dissapointed as they didn't put prices on the bikes so you have to enquire (or look at the website).

My sons moped was bought from Robinsons of Rochdale. Had no issues with them and they certainly have a wide verierty of bikes. Would buy from them again if the price is right definitly, only issue is they're a little from me so it's a bit of a treck.

I feel the need to post a picture of one of my bikes to cheer myself up. I'm out in the alps at the moment as snapped my collarbone in half yesterday, crashed on my skis onto solid ice, my ski tracks says I was doing 51.8mph at the point I crashed. Obviously the only protection I had on was a helmet and a foam back protector. It hurt and I'm not going to be able to ride for 6-12 weeks furious I did manage to ski down to my apartment though and I'm tempted to tape and strap it up real well and go skiing again Thursday/Friday as were due some snow that I don't want to miss out on, I just can't afford to crash again.

Here is a pic of my bike. I miss riding it, I kind of switch myself out of bike mode in winter and enjoy my other hobbies so I don't pine for a ride too much.

Just speaking to one of my mates today, he's just bought himself a 2008 GSX-R750 IOM edition today, and our other riding mate has chopped his SV650 for a Street Triple. I'm looking forward to some decent evenings out with them. My pal isn't sure how much of a step up the 750 will be over his old CBR600RR in terms of raw power, I pointed out that 148bhp and 60 odd ft-lbs of torque should give it a fair bit more go than his old Honda. Bring on the fun.

Hunts of Manchester face to face sales are terrible - they have quite a few reviews on various social media that says the same. You have to engage with them - not the other way round. I bet they have lost a number of sales over the years because of this.

They tend to deal with everything via phone calls and emails, and are very good at that.

I can not fault after-sales or quality of prep of bikes. My ignition barrel failed on my old ZX6R, it was three or four days out of warranty, they swapped/repaired it out for free for me at their own cost.

Actually made an attempt to make the thunderace roadworthy again today. Forks are a bit bent. Don't think I'll bother with it now too much money to spend as well as fixing the forks. Think I'll just sell it as bits.

Don't have the money at the moment. I've still got my VFR 750 so that'll get a few fancy bits off this and just ride that for now. The money from the Thunderace will help pay for my car and I'll save up for an R1 eventually now I don't have to ride every day.

Looking forward to getting out with the NW lot this year now I've got weekends back!
