Thought it was a keeper? You seemed lucky with it so far.
It would be - I'm still smitten with it and had big plans, but my insurance quote for the year is looking prohibitive (I've bored everyone to death in other threads but think £1500-2500 in London), and I could use some cash for hopefully getting on the property ladder. I'll have another as soon as I can! It's been faultless. Just expensive to service.

This just arrived and I'm now ''bananafied' according to a certain PH member!

Learnt my lesson with the last R1 so all venture-shielded before turning a wheel this time.
Excellent service from Bells as normal.

MOT time for the twins. After a long lay up over the winter, both fired up first time this year, and passed with flying colours after a short bimble to the test centre. Advisories on both, "Noisy exhaust" hehe

I'm sure I've mentioned before but that Sp looks the muts nuts (that's a good thing)

Had some free time today and it was dry and sunny so I decided I would get my Aprilia out. Took the battery out of my wardrobe where it had lived since October, chucked it on the bike and it fired up instantly. Bloody unreliable Italian tat wink
Quick oil check, lube of the chain and sort the tyre pressures (which had only dropped 3psi all winter although it has been on paddock stands) and went out for a little 45 mile bimble. I forgot how torquey it is, and I nearly went over the bars first time I braked! Too used to riding my thundercat all winter.
Got back and gave it a good clean, thought I'd chuck a bucket over the daily whilst I had the stuff out. An enjoyable day, it feels like spring is here although rain forecast for the next week or so now.

Did you do any wheelies.

I remember the state of your last new one after a couple of hours group riding.
That was the day my 04 R1 kept out dragging his brand spanky new R1.

I like the idea of TC when you see a photo like that, hopefully it kept going and only low sided him.

I wish, a couple all the way through 2nd but only about 3 inches high! Nothing to your wheelie standards. It's something I really must learn...

Too many trackday tyres on these puppies.

Small attempt at de-scabbyifying the old R1. Cannot beat a bit of two pack!

Nice, I'm looking at early May for mine according to the dealer.
For a 60th anniversary R1?

Ring Bells, they have one left.
Nope the R1M. Bit giddy now

I like his work, especially the little ditty he did with Elton John.

Nice job of the wheels Jon.

The ex-Fleegle safety Hi Viz ones are still on the bike just to give it that current distressed look I was aiming for.

Cheers, John. The spanners at the garage where she had her MOT done (Honda's biggest dealer in Europe!) all went "phwooaar" when they saw her. A bit like Sandra Bullock in her 50s and still well able to pull!

Here I am on a sunny day back in about 1981. I guess I would have been about 12.

Very much dressed for the ride and not the crash.

The bike was a 1975 Kawasaki KM90.

Bubbles caused by pumping the forks to drain the oil before dismantling, nothing to see here.........
