Great to get back on the bike after winter even if it was just a trip for a MOT. Plenty warm enough for a ride unfortunately didn't enough time to take advantage. Can't wait to get out for a real ride.

Not at MX we don't , I assure you Rick !
However , first Enduro entered , Easter Sunday April 16th , 1.5 hours straight should be interesting !
My bike is currently being made rideable and efficient as it proved to have had an aftermarket " V-Force" reed valve fitted , a supposed performance upgrade , but mine , proving hard to start , tickover and then revving madly once hot , has over half the reed area missing in action , looking forward to getting it back fully fettled and user friendly again , with anything needed doing being done , all at less than a pair of road tyres expense !

Good look with that Grahame, that's a rock hard thing to do.

Especially at our age.

Its all fun and games until someone breaks an arm or leg. (not that I wish that to happen)

Them off road bikes are bloody dangerous.

V force reeds are very good, not so much when half the petals are missing, though. You can also add flywheel weight and play with the power valve to get the kind of delivery you're looking for.

I bought some EBC HH sintered brake pads for my commuter thundercat recently as the brakes have never been much good. I went to fit them today and upon pumping the pistons out to give them a scrub with a Toothbrush I discovered that only 1 out of 4 pistons on each side was actually working. The pads that were in there look fairly new so whoever last changed them must have not bothered checking the pistons or cleaning anything.

Both calipers off, got the compressor out to remove the stuck pistons and ordered some new seals. I'll be giving everything a good clean up whilst I wait for the seals to arrive and the brakes should actually work then! Found that it's got braided hoses which was a bonus, I'm using it on 2 trackdays next month so was going to stick a set on whilst the calipers are off but no need now

Dragged the Mrs to a damp n grey Raleigh Chopper meet in Milton Keynes today, she couldnt quite believe id talked her onto this one but I tell ya, what a bunch of boys n girls, great atmosphere, I have not laughed so much for ages, couple of people binned it..Sure as hell beats many a (motor)bike meet ive been on.

Very well organised..and had a start, middle and end at a pub..!

Some of us went for a lap of the BMX track

Good turn out considering the weather.

Not sure yet...

I rode from Kent over to the other side of chelsmford on the motorway, no issues - riding round after a couple of stops the bike starts cutting out/running a little rough. I don't think anything of it, but then it starts properly cutting out, revs just dying, not able to idle properly, then surging if it kicked back in, or just dying - almost like it's not getting enough fuel. Though it might be some crap in the fuel lines, but left it 20 minutes to cool down and it then ran fine for about 40 miles at 50-60mph on the motorway back, then started cutting out again just before the dartford crossing frown

AA bloke got it started again as the battery was low and it was running fine again (after being sat for 30 minutes) but it wasn't worth the risk, I didn't want to get stuck on the crossing... eek So it went on the back of an AA flatbed and taken home.

Tested the stator and battery today, all good - output is what it should be so doesn't look like it's that. Could be fuel filter or something to do with the fuel pump, but it smelt very rich when it was running so I think (hope) it could be the coil that's getting warm and being dodgy after the bike has been running a while.

Had it idling today and it's running perfectly. So deffo only an issue once something is getting warm.

Sounds a strange one, I hope you get it sorted quickly ( & without too much expense) , that is a lovely looking bike.
