Managed to get out in the sunshine yesterday for an brief blat. It's not an easy bike to take a good picture of. I think there is probably only one angle it looks good from, give or take 2 degrees either way.

Yes, in part. The 185 is more or less as purchased, complete with Mot, just added a new seat, shocks, indicators, mirrors, cables and the like.

The 250 had been stripped, powder coated and rebuilt internally, but it has been a cow to finish. Carbs off, cleaned, rebuilt more times than I care to remember, exhaust re-chromed, new handlebars, shocks, indicators, mirrors, switchgear, chainguard, airbox rubbers, etc. etc. Finally got it done, but its a bugger to cold start, fires up a treat on a squirt of easy start and then runs like a dream......but on petrol and choke not a chance. New jets arriving tomorrow.

The 550, was already done, but I've taken off and stored the standard exhausts, and replaced them with the Higgspeeds. Goes (and sounds) much better now. Other than that, just lots of love and polishing, hoping to get it MoT'd next dry and sunny day, when the roads are cleaned.

I might have a thin down of them, as they are all fairly high maintenance and love a tipple of both fuel, and oil, but on the flip side, they are cheap to insure !

My mate got one of these. Goes really well and he is very happy I think.

But good looking isn't a word I would use to describe it...

Gave the bike a good wash and tidy up then decided it would be nice to go get it dirty again. Went for a nice 140 mile round trip to clear the mind.

The questionable looks had occurred to me hehe You can't see it when you're sat on it though. You know when you get a new toy and cruise past shop windows and check your reflection? I don't do that.

The exhaust is low. I'm assuming that's to accomodate a pannier fitting over the top, rather that recessing the pannier for the exhaust as per the GS.

And it does look better in the flesh. A bit.

This morning I was cleaning the bike and servicing my boys mx bike ready for the weekend when my 21 month old daughter started pulling on my jeans saying 'toot toot' which means toothbrush and pointing to my bike

It took me a couple seconds to realise what she'd done

Can anyone see the problem?

You let her brush her teeth in the garage?
Don't be ridiculous. He keeps his bike in the bathroom.

Is Dunkeld to Perth average speed or is that further north they have put the A9 on lockdown?

Hah, she maybe aint a looker but does fine for what I need.

A9 is average speed cams now from Dunkeld to Perth, that plus single file traffic for the most part makes that part of the route pretty crap. Once you make the turn off on to the Crief road up towards Aberfeldy it gets a lot more fun, and Aberfeldy up to that little rest stop is just great as long as you don't get stuck behind a logging truck or something.

Fitting this post MOT (don't think they can examine shock with it on?)

Over priced but should keep the st out of the shock on this years big highland run.

The average speed cameras start at the Dunblane roundabout and end at Moy, south of Inverness. I would call that a lockdown.
