Was only about 15-20 per group the first 3 days, then a load of Spanish riders turned up on the last day which wasn't as good
Did you find yourself going quicker or slower with no one around you?

I find it quite motivating and fun trying to catch someone up.

Croft 2010, the lad on the Green Kawasaki crashed while in 2nd place of the BSB SS 600 race at Croft a week after this picture was taken, can't remember his name but he was in our Garage and spent the whole day picking on me out on track.

On a track day I usually find myself going quicker if I can get some space to myself. I don't mind having a rabbit to chase sometimes but I prefer just focusing on what I'm doing and not having to worry about anyone else. I usually knock 2-3 seconds off when I enter a race meeting though, partially through pushing harder and partially through chasing the bike in front smile

Went for quick blast today with two stunning Ducatis. The hyper was mega loud and is very good at flicking stones and demolishing my cheap Suzuki! Look forward to having a proper go on the Hyper and the panigale once they are run in

Did 100 miles on the new Blade SP this morning. Epic road bike. Noticeably better power with far less inertia compared to the outgoing model. Super slim. Like a 600. Initial tip in is instant, and adaptive Ohlins and electronics allow her to be super stable under hard braking coming back down the gearbox - QS excellent, only use the clutch pulling away from a stop. Easy to ride her exceptionally hard and fast, despite fractional power deficit. Sounds great on the standard pipe. Build quality also a step up and better than the pre-production show bikes. Fantastic. 1st deliveries due mid-April.

Fantastic looking bike, how much is that fractional power deficit rumoured to be over the BMW etc?
I'm guessing 10-15hp from my butt dyno. It doesn't pull as strongly as my Ducati so it lacks the OMG power thrill, and it doesnt have quite the same buzz at the top end as the S1KRR. But the key advantage of the BladeSP is that it is so easy to ride and use more of the power more of the time, with electronics that allow you to take liberties and be hamfisted/footfisted with gearchanges/braking/throttle. Mega fast road bike.

Unrelated topic, but rebuilding my track bike and the budget creep is definitely happening. I've just spent £50 on 8 bolts!

I find it's best not to do a budget as it depresses me how much I go over it every time! I'd hope they are some impressive bolts for that money!!

Not withstanding how good the new Fireblade is got to say it looks quite 'bitty' from this angle - minimal fairing, huge can & heatshield, awkward numberplate mount.

I'm sure the RSV Tuono Supernaked has as much fairing as this!!

It seems the road bikes are a generation or more behind HRC racebikes - a few years ago the RCV had an abbreviated fairing.

Roll on 2020 when the M1 inspired fairing with integrated wings appear on the R1 - OW01 revisited!!

Re the can, I thought it was quite modest for an OEM zorst. It sounds great, and as a full titanium unit, I'd probably keep it standard. The overall dimensions of the front end are much slimmer than the outgoing model, and the paucity of fairing just shouts efficiency and easy access - something the old model was bas for IINM.

Sorry, didn't realise it was your own bike, wasn't having a pop - honest.

Agree entirely with the exhaust & Euro 4s etc, will be so much better made than anything aftermarket too, and probably just as light.

Good comment re the older model 'blade's airfix assembly fairing and it's undoable fasteners.

Now if Honda were able to 'Tuono-ise' this rather than update the CB1000R ............ (I'll claim my copyright now).

Our steed for this weekends Nifty Fifty endurance race. 5 hours on an MX track for charity in teams of up to 4.

Tom (team member not me) got a bit over-excited and went a bit nuts with the exhaust routing...

Quick update to this, we came 23rd out of 24 in class.

This is largely due to losing over an hour at about the 2 hour mark. Doing some quick maths based on our fastest lap (1.39( time I think we would have been around the top 10.

We managed 104 laps and the winning team 181 which sounds like a big difference but really it is all down to reliability.

Some big plans are afoot for the next event so watch this space!

I'll be doing a full write up on my website in the next day or two if anyone will be interested?
