That is a kick in the balls mate. Modern unleaded is fking evil stuff. I've lost the transfers off the side of one of my tanks recently that had survived God knows how many years.
I was a bit miffed for 10 minutes last night but what can you do, getting angry doesn't solve anything.

The was at least One positive I could take from this and that was that Mrs Nemesis didn't say anything when I hit the drink big time last night. (3 cans of larger)

Had my tank re painted on the LC at the start of this year. Last night I filled the tank up and parked it on the centre stand, went back in the garage a couple of hours later to the smell of petrol and find that petrol had leaked out of the cap and run down the side of the tank lifting the sticker.

With the cap being on the side at an angle this is how it has leaked, I suspect that the cap is a pattern item just like the fuel tap that leaked when left switched on.

I've just ordered another full set of graphics again and will have to order more paint and lacquer and pay to have it all stripped and then re painted again, I'll also order a genuine filler cap from Yamaha

That's another £350-£400 for fk all again!

I feel your pain, my LC tank suffered a similar fate, shortly after painting it as too, a wee pin hole was the cause in my case, I have the same pattern cap as you I think, ive got fuel on my tank but the paint hasnt suffered , perhaps the paint wasnt quite up to the job..?

Hope you get it sorted soon anyway.

Members of a certain age will remember the other bloke,a top bloke!!
Quite possibly leaning on the actual bike he lost his life on - the Killer K.

Racing Teapot in the background as well.
Won't be that bike, they were completely standard in the '89 Proddy TT, the bike in the pic has a race can (not to mention rear footrests & indicators).

My first year at the TT, watched that race at Keppell Gate - the landlord at the B&B turned the news up at dinner, the room went quiet when we heard that Phil (and Steve Henshaw in Whitham's crash) were killed in that race.

Just bought myself a cheap (£250) to run about over the winter months!
Makes a winter jacket look poor value for money!
It does doesn't it? Just about £500 all in insured taxed etc, not the best of car but will see me through my daily commute easy enought during the winter months.
Check the bonnet catch on it. IIRC those clios have them held by 3 bolts. Two of them have a habit of coming loose and falling out, leaving the catch to pivot about the remaining one, release the bonnet and fling it over the windscreen.

Sold this on Sunday morning... Pretty much a perfect example of this marque. Very few cars / bikes over the years have left me feeling cold, but this was one of them. Just didn't get on with it, hard to put my finger on it...

Cannot wait for the instalment where you reinstate the ABS system - most fun!

Not sure Steve, could be a ZX10, BMW or an R1.

According to the crack everyone reckons I have ordered a R1-M which is news to me.

For what little it's worth, I reckon the ZX10 is a damn fine package and hard to beat. Considering it's price vs the others there's plenty of scope to add some decent suspension and maybe the Kit ECU.
And considering you're a tall lad, the ZX is quite stretched out, might suit you nicely....
