That road is so over rated (grew up in Macclesfield). Much prefer this:

I went once back when I rode, never went back. Much better journeys to be had up towards the east coast and... well just about anywhere else tbh.

Friend of mine got a ticket through the post from the average speed cameras on there a week back, so they may have been repaired?

A much better way is to come up past Tegg's Nose to the Setter Dog, then take the first right after and rejoin the road just below the Cat and Fiddle.
Much quicker, better variety of road and no cameras.

I shall consult the map for this then I don't know many roads over that way. Cheers

But as I said before, the route I posted above is much better. Lots of fast sweeping bends and hairpins, tricky downhill sections (and even a great sharp 90 bend around a house).

the bus times made me smile

to the shrew

on an os map anything that is yellow or brown is likely to be interesting, green or red is likely to be full of the early retired, tea shop hunters, angry football dads and restricted to 50, extended 40's and 30' "its for a reason"
