Congrats, good timing - now go and get what rules the heart, because you'll want that eventually anyway. None of this "I'll get something sensible to learn the ropes on" stuff smile

I've been eyeing up CBR600, either F or RR, probably around a 2005 model or so. But then values seem to be a bit all over the place as in a 2008 CBR RR is not that much more expensive than a 2005 one.

Almost 1 year in from passing my DAS, I'm very pleased with my 2003 (2001 model) CBR600F. It's very forgiving and as a new rider you don't need to be too precious with it given the low price. Should be able to get a good F4i (end of the line injection model) for £2k.

Congratulations! The learning process starts here.

I'm sure you'll be OK, but don't forget, it's easy to get hurt if you're not careful.

Good luck.

Thanks guys biggrin . Yeah same as when you pass your car test, you only really start learning once you've passed! Time to enjoy myself though!

Well done mate
Ive been riding 2 years now and still kick myself for messing with cars for so many years and not getting a bike sooner.

Ride safely, gaining confidence in bike and ability on the roads takes time

Well done OP! Awesome feeling eh.

I passed mine a couple of weeks ago, going to the bike shop tomorrow to see a Kawasaki ER-6. I'm going to be like a kid in a sweet shop when I get there though haha.

Congratulations! You must be so relieved.

I've got my Mod 2 coming up soon so I'm still spending hours and hours riding around with nowhere to go! I asked my instructor if 'pull over at the next available safe place' (or whatever terminology they use) included double yellow lines. He said 'no way, avoid double yellows' but I have read on one of the official sites that you can pull over momentarily as long as you don't park. Any thoughts?

True, but thankfully there's a lot more ways to speed up your learning on the bike. E.g. BikeSafe is very good and well worth doing as soon as you've passed your test. Rapid Training is utterly brilliant whatever your skill level thumbup
