Pah. I kept her a bay for 3 laps before I encountered a miss fire, my tyre was slipping on the rim and the fuel light was on.

Even then I managed to stay with her for two Laps on road tyres and standard gearing with all these problems right up until I saw a kipper on the track and had to back off as I never had Wets on.

One thing I will say is I've developed a huge crush on her. She's a lot better looking than she can ride, obviously.

I had a wander round the pits at Oulton today, after the lunch break, saw two mint 64 plate 'blades and commented on who would be brave enough to bring them?! Next session I see one of them scorching most people with ease.. then I spotted the leathers, blue lid. Doh. She was visibly quicker than everyone I saw her catch and pass, later braking, much earlier and harder on the throttle coming out, catapulting passed most riders with ease. I didn't want to ruin her day by drooling in front of her so left her be biggrin

I saw Jenny yesterday at Oulton, she was with a trackday novice/early inters rider, on 1 to 1 tuition. When she wasn’t busy I went and grabbed a photo and said hi.

Instantly I was surprised just how timid and shy she is in person. Rather nervous body language, staring at her feet, fidgeting, she looked rather surprised and happy that someone would want a photo. Basically what I am trying to say here is she’s just an ordinary person, who is incredibly nice to speak to, and I imagine doesn’t relish being in the limelight.

She went out, literally tip toeing around with the guy she was tutoring for the day, didn’t help it was freezing and pissing it down in the morning. She moved out of the way when you approached never thought anymore of it.

It wasn’t until the end of the day, when she had obviously said to the lad she was with, go yourself now and see how you get on did she open it up.

On the last session I passed Jenny and co on lap 1. I spent the next few laps going about my business. Now I never got over taken once in the afternoon, so imagine my shock when I saw the tip of a blade come up the inside. I then saw the leathers and knew it was her, I had no idea how long she was there. I got giddy for a corner thinking, “I’m keeping up with Jenny”, but then I realised she was showing me the way round. I continued as normal, she showed me loads of great lines, I learned loads from it.

She never indicated she was doing this though, no tap of the seat etc but it was obvious. What wasn’t obvious was when she fked off. I spent two laps getting a tow, she was matching my pace with ease, but rather than wave goodbye she just floored it. I obviously tried keeping up thinking, well we are just going the same speed as before. I grabbed a huge hand full of gas out of the last turn to keep her in sight as she had now shot into the distance, this proceeded in my Daytona trying to part company with me for the second time this week, my arse was out the saddle with a near highside.

I tried like a bd to keep up for the next lap, only just keeping her in a bubble due to traffic, it was when I fked up the chicane on the brakes trying to catch her needing to use the run off I thought, nope my arse is well and truly handed to me here stop trying.

For her to take time to do this was great, why me, I never asked for it she was with another guy teaching, I can only assume she saw a fan of hers and went the extra wee bit. She had tried it a session before but it got called early. Don’t get me wrong, I know she’s never going to set the world on fire in BSB but she comes under so much stick for her riding ability. The odd joke is fine, its light hearted and with no malice, I even do it and will continue to. It’s when people tear her riding apart, and saying she shouldn’t be there etc. Is she good enough for a factory ride, hmmm dunno, would you or anyone else take a factory ride if it was offered to you. fk yes. Does she need to justify it, nope, only Honda do. They obviously see merit in her for whatever reason so that’s where the comments should land.

Anyway, I arrived back in the pits, I instantly was, “Jenny this, Jenny that, Flew past me this or that” to the other guys. Now I overtook all in my pit with ease, I was the quickest inter rider out there, but the comments were “I never got passed, I did all I could to make sure of it, luckily I was quick enough”. I’d done this guy on lap 2. Another then proceeded to tell me, “I kept with you for a few corners then you were gone”, did you see Jenny pass, how quick is she I asked, “no, no she never overtook me I done her on lap one”. The final one was “running out” of fuel so well off it that session.

I’m a big Jenny fan now, she’s also much nicer looking in the flesh, or when she’s had 30 lap bsb race. She’s no Kate Upton but I have a crush on her now. The garage will be full of Jenny posters.

Good update...

Its amazing how faster riders can do it with absolute ease. They expend less effort doing the same thing.

Was watching Parish and Whit on the stage at the bike show last year and they had lots of BSB and TT guys on the stage and only after about 10 mins did I realise I was standing right next to Jenny. I just wish I had spoke to her and got a picture with her but I was more in shock that she was there all that time and I didn't realise.
It'd be awesome to have a girlfriend like her!

Jenny would no doubt leave all of us for dead on track and embarrass most intermediate and even fast level riders but that rider in the article looks more like a complete novice. Not using full throttle and not even bothering to change gear?!
Now that we've all admitted Jenny would kick our ass on track does anyone agree that the data shows more of a novice rider than an intermediate?

No. What you think you do versus what you actually do are two different things. Although most on here seem to think they're for Billy big bks and hence dismiss them, only a data logger will actually tell you what is happening and where you can probably improve (in addition to decent coaching, etc)

I know 100% that I use full throttle on the straights and I know 100% that I change gears.

Nice one mate, that's cool regardless of how good you think she is in BSB.

Though where is sc0tt when you need him? That photo needs cropped at least.

Trouble is would you do that if someone just gave you the keys to a new fireblade. You never know if the rider in question usually rides a 600 if he was given all morning to adjust, or maybeit was his bike I dun o. You could probably run round most of the UK tracks and be in the top half of inters by never using anything other than 2nd and 3rd on most new 1000cc bikes.

ha, yeah the moment has gone.

After following Jenny for a bit, did you pick anything up? Or was she just braking harder / leaning more / harder on the gas?

Good point, I assumed the person would be used to the timing bike. If they were thrown the keys to a bike a lot faster than they were used to then it might explain things.

The trace also shows how quickly 100% throttle is applied and at what point coming out of the corner. This will be one of the main areas where a very quick and a.n.other rider differ, along with speed carried up to the apex.
