What!! Pah! You sure you didn't press the red button at the critical 'let's play' moment?!

E mail is my user name on here at hotmail dot com.

It exposed a front fork issue even at finding-our-feet speed at Snett that cannot be resolved prior to Aragon so not sure what will happen when it's on slicks and feeling silly.

Haha ! No, I promise you John , I didn't kill it 'cos I was on the "wane" and you were on the ascendancy by that point , mate , honest guv! Sorry to hear about the suspension issue .... pretty much how I feel about mine at the moment , can't quite seem to get it feeling right this year ...cutting tyres up for fun of late .....
I'm thinking a few of us may need to club together and fly Steve the bass over from South Africa to come and sort the job out for us all ...!

Steve just might be a MotoGP step too far. hehe

A mate's an Öhlins / K Tech chap and we know where to go but it involves destroying a fork cap (it's jammed on the cartridge because Ape Man has been in there) which is great if you've got the replacement parts ready to replace what you've got to cut out. It's got the wrong oil level in it (and wrong spring as well) so much bottoming and chattering. It's okay at 80% so it is what it is.

Here you go - Jon. Thanks to Ryan ( Yazza ) , upload king! ( second one is mainly with you ).

My second day at Snett300, first was back in May. Sessions 2 and then 7 of day - some in Fast Group may spot themselves in first one mainly. Last session was mainly following moto_traxport ( Jon H.) -first day on his new to him Gsxr1000, going very very well by then ! Shame about wobbly camera - on tall ram mount and through heavily beveled screen .....must reposition next time !

It was a great day and PH / BB turnout , will see if I can find some vid of Doni from 26th, I didn't take any but know a couple who did ..GB.

Slight thread revival, and a ramble wink

So, post snett / another big scare (locked front) at brands, I've gone and bought an old (5EB) R6 on a bit of a whim. Price was about right; while not a 'track' bike it's very tidy has bungs and the like and more importantly belonged to a mate who is utterly OCD.

Ridden it on the road a little bit, totally different to my expectations and to the ducati:
- Relatively strong midrange / less top end screamy than I expected, the 848 is more biassed to the top end. Carbs = pops and bangs biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
- Feels very short / fat and a very upright position. Given the amount I've had to focus on getting my weight off the bars / problems I've caused by 'straight arms' stopping the 848 from turning, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this goes
- Far less intimidating (this may not be a good thing).
- VERY soft in comparison, positively comfy (848 dived, but seemed not to squat, and had apparently no high speed bump absorbtion at all)
- FAR more folks nod. Still the 848 was a more 'special' place to be, so pretty smile

All in all, looking forward to giving it a go.. just need to find something before winter really sets in.

Question for the brains here tho - tyres...

It's come with a brand new set of michelin pilot road 2's. I plan to stick them on the 848 as they're probably not the 'right' solution and the 848 needs new tyres before I sell it, so what would folks suggest? Planning to keep it road legal / use it on road too, though not for commuting etc. Thinking it might be a good idea to go for something more grippy / focussed, or no? Scrubs a possibility, and if so where / are they not road legal?
