Why is the word Chinese in inverted commas?
Personally I'd have gone with your intructor's advice if you;re starting your DAS immediately, you'll be passed in a few weeks, the bike will be on sale and you'll be making "what bike?" threads.
That's proper "Rain Man" stuff right there that is....^^^^^^^^^^Personally I'd have gone with your intructor's advice if you;re starting your DAS immediately, you'll be passed in a few weeks, the bike will be on sale and you'll be making "what bike?" threads.

The newer boys will no doubt disagree with me, but I'd imagine you'll learn more riding that for a year than you will on your "DAS" thingy !
In the interest of stimulating discussion, please elaborate.I'm a miserable old git, and I think the current licensing scheme is bks, and hanker for the days when you bought an unrestricted moped, your uncle taught you how to work it, and off your went.
You then had a 250 (or anything up to that you chose), you rode that for a bit, passed your test, by now you've been riding about 2 to 3 years, then you get a bigger bike and off you go.
Lots and lots and lots of young men did the same, and you had a hoot.
No drama, no grief, simple stuff.

I'm not sure how what you've posted relates to becoming a better rider by spending a while on a 125 though. Passing DAS doesn't mean you have to buy a litre bike and die in a gruesome fashion.

I'm even more anti those that think it is their god given right to encroach into roadspace already occupied by another vehicle.
And you are quite correct, you don't have to buy a superbike because you have a full licence.
It is my experience in life, as an older chap that does hold qualifications, that you learn far more doing something than you do on the course that allows you to do it.

It was recommended to me that I should do my DAS right after the CBT. It makes sense financially I suppose. But I found the practical road experience invaluable, preparing me much better for my DAS and giving me a clearer idea if biking was something I really wanted to do. Depends on your own preference for learning.
