So after the last three weeks nightmare ktm situation I took the bike back got my money and bought this.

2007 r6 with 12k on the clock.I was after one of these or a 675 but after sitting on a few triumphs I'm just too chunky for one. I looked like an ape on a monkey bike. So this will be taking over as my track bike for next season but for the rest of summer I'm just gonna use it as a road bike, get used to it and upgrade some bits as I go.
I also got a bit of cash back from the ktm so I'm going to order a clear screen, rear sets, hm quickshifter and some supercorsas. Trouble is I can't walk at the moment so I can't pick it up untill I.m better.

They're as fast as anything on track, the only problem people seem to have with them is getting them past noise tests due to the shorty exhaust.

Apart from that you'll be flying in no time on it.

Cheers John. I'm gonna take it to a track to get it tested as soon as im fit. That little can is an akropovic with the cat still in place and it doesn't sound that loud but not sure what rpm theyl test these at, it also has a hole for a baffle but it doesn't have one with it so might be another option. It also came with a yoshimura can so I can try both and if not ill ask around what people use.

If the cat is still there you'll be fine. You won't pass the noise test as Castle Combe even with it stock though.

You can go to a full system and still pass noise tests. My old R6 race bike used to coming out at 101-102db, tested at 6k IIRC.

Looks tidy though, and in the best colours.

I've never heard a bad word said about one of these as a track bike, good buy.

Looks ace that Tim , enjoy - once better ! Ps which bike shop ?, seems decent judging by the way in which you've seemingly returned the KTM without any aggro ...good mixed bag of bikes too , cheers..

Who leaves them with the cat in?

Croft, Oulton and (Donington unless its a noisy day) are pretty strict on noise.

I have seen quite a few R6's and Fireblades fail the noise testing on TD's.

It's best to warn people so that there day doesn't get off to a bad start eh.

Ha in my mind it was more like this

That ktm was the only bike at 6ft I've not been able to put both my feet down.

Not like this from the weekend. I'm the ape on the back. This was a surprisingly fun bike, although you were practically invisible on the road.

Lovely bike..

A mate of mine had the same bike. He's a copper but parked his bike in Lewisham without a lock and the scrotes came and took it. Even with Alarm going off.

Anyway lovely bike.

R6R's are pretty frikkin awesome IMO, with little mods required to be properly quick, but if you want to spend a bit more, complete weapon.

Always wanted one since Hobo (don't know if he still comes on BB) let me ride (and crash cry) his, same colour as this.

That was back in Sept 2007 at cadwell, I was there with Stub, Hobo and Aky.

Stu was fine and the bike wasn't too badly damaged.
