Good win for Factory Yamaha. Would be interested to see if Milwakee Yamaha get any of the factory bits from that machine. It'll presumably form the basis of the factory Yamaha for WSBK next year.

Any significance in Bradley taking the chequered flag? Is pol no longer the favourite step child?

Just the way the timings of the race worked with pit stops and the safety cars. Nakasuga would have.

Epic race and amazing to see it all the way through (guess where I spent Sunday). Having done a couple of 3 hour endurance races with guys off here and trying (but failing) to do a 6 hour race watching this was just superb. So much respect for all the riders and that R1 is just superb. Watching 2nd tier MotoGP riders destroy the field too just shows how good they are.

It's rekindled my interest in endurance racing again.

Come on Team Lucking Fast

EDIT: Forgot to ask but how do the riders cope with the settings? They all seem to work off one lot of set up which seems mental given how hard they can ride

I love watching races like this. Much like the race of champions for the f1 guys. You get to see alot of topt tier racers on/in vehicles you don't usually get to.
I kind of expected the Moto gp guys to be good but to watch them literally carve through the 95% of the field was incredible. I could watch pol ride any bike all day long.
Made up that bradders took the chequered flag as well, it seemed like a nice reward for a great season so far.

I was also massively impressed with Alex Lowe's, and that australian guy on the 2nd place Honda team. Something hook. Never heard of him but a great ride.

That's the first time I've sat and watched 8 hours of anything.

Some of the bikes look great - I want glow in the dark numbers.

Also, how come the BMWs aren't so competitive? Lack of budget, factory support?

Josh, they're all called Josh, Brookes, Waters, Hook. It's in the genes, that and bar work.

First attempt wasn't it? Either way they were doing well until one of the riders fell off and that was it. The Yamaha ride was perfect though, very fast, faultless machinery and no mistakes (excluding the yellow flag overtake stop & go penalty). That makes them nigh on impossible to beat. The other thing was the riders were top, top riders.

It was fantastic to watch that R1 being ridden so well and it just looked effortless on the bike too. Awesome performance all round.

I don't know! But agree with you, the R1 looked faultless.

It looked to me like Bradley passed under yellows when the last safety car came out. I didn't see it, but it looked like Bradley was wanting the guy behind him to pass ?

I thought the same with the last yellow. Not sure if he was caught out by the amount that normal endurance riders shut the throttle though. In MotoGP, they probably knock 0.1% off their speed, at Suzuka it looked like a bunch of Inters riders who hadn't listened to the briefing and just chop the throttle shut.

When the last safety car pulled in it looked like Bradley was channelling his inner Marquez the way he was passing everyone !

I thought he was getting them to hurry up and close up, maybe something to do with the use of two safety cars and getting more riders behind him and the first safety car with Aegerter stuck further back behind the 2nd one?

Amazing that Bradley had never been in a Safety Car situation before in his career, as they don't use them in any of the MotoGP classes.
