Biker Infighting
Discussion
A lot of bikers have an overinflated opinion of their own riding ability. Probably because they think, "oh it's so dangerous man, everyone on the road is out to kill me, I'm so good I never make mistakes, everyone else is an idiot." They are happy to met out tut-tuts or head shakes to other bikers, when really it is their own riding which is also just as st.

Lol...
Bunch of blokes discussing bikes. There is bound to be some assholes. Some people who are know it all's and can't agree to differ on a point. Others are just rude because of the medium of the forum allows them to be so.
Then you get the guys who have a aloofness because they have managed to get into the fast group after doing a gazillion track days. So cannot be wrong ever and deliver their words with a condescending arrogance that irks the most patient among us..
You also have folks who have so much time on their hands they can post every 30 seconds. Or have the energy to pick fights and carry it on forever.
The most annoying are the guys who think they are funny and every post they make should be read in some manner where whatever they say is interpreted as funny or serious depending upon their mood. Dare you misinterpret their musings as you have to take a load of st off them.
I just stay away from those chaps and just try to enjoy the forum talking about bikes. You get dragged in but you need to sometimes drag yourself out.

....but judging by many threads in here (the one about GSs being a recent example) this doesn't seem to be the case with true vitriol being reserved not for non-bikers but for those fellow bikers that don't ride exactly the same types of bikes or dare to enjoy biking in different ways.
Personally, I don't think you've really grasped the dynamic here in BB. There's very little vitriol, rather robust opinions. If you look at the scarce Moderator intervention here compared to many other sub forums, it's clear that what might appear to outsiders as slanging matches, actually isn't.
Remember that a large number of people know each other in real life so what can seem as unruly or vitriolic is banter, albeit with disagreements.
Once you've been here a while, you'll get the hang of it

Like most groups there's a clique on BB, many of the jokes are in-jokes or long standing ribbings, between just a few posters.

Come along to the track day on the 15 August there will be 17 people the majority of them I wont have met before, but sure they will become friends T
Its not a Clique its because people have met face to face and become really good friends

I think there is some resistance by some to feel we all have one thing in common due to the diversity of bikes and the way people identify with them, it's a mini version of Mods and Rockers. I'm hated by the HA wanna be's and dismissed by the Crotch Rocket blokes because I ride a VRSCA, it's pack mentality perhaps?

Why cant people just be fking polite?!
I love a good oxymoron Why cant people just be fking polite?!
I've noticed some level of sensitivity in BB, people taking things adversely when it wouldn't have occurred to me to get offended, but maybe I'm of the thick skin variety. Wrinkled certainly
We all like bikes in our own ways, and communicate in different ways, that's all. Calm down dears

Two things I hate.
1) The belief that because we're all motorcyclists we have a mutual common ground. We don't.
2) The post slagging match analysis of internet forum rows. People need to have thicker skin.

1. We are all motorcyclists and do have a mutual common ground! Motorcycles!?! We have a lot in common… why the hell else are you on here unless you want to socialise with people you have something in common with? That theory doesn’t even make sense. Why you on here?
2. Rather then everyone have thicker skin so wkers can just be blunt. Why cant people just be fking polite?!
Because wkers just are. You're best bet is being resilient, not crying about it and thinking anyone gives a st.

thats because you bought the wrong V-Rod, its an A and you should have got the DX or an F, at least an AW would have had more cred or maybe a B, D or X...but not an A ..wrong variant dude, you are not in the clique We're a tribal lot and always will be
We ride Brand X and they're great but those wkers who ride Brand Y they havent a clue. But then when you dig deeper the Brand X guys are all falling out amongst themselves. Because the latest model is rubbish and company Brand X have sold out so now there's a split between Brand X mk1 and Brand X mk2 and so it goes on.
Substitute "Brand X" for Harley, BMW or any other manufacture you like
