Two things I hate.

1) The belief that because we're all motorcyclists we have a mutual common ground. We don't.

2) The post slagging match analysis of internet forum rows. People need to have thicker skin.
Disagree..

1. We are all motorcyclists and do have a mutual common ground! Motorcycles!?! We have a lot in common… why the hell else are you on here unless you want to socialise with people you have something in common with? That theory doesn’t even make sense. Why you on here?

2. Rather then everyone have thicker skin so wkers can just be blunt. Why cant people just be fking polite?! wink

I'm pretty confident we also own shoes and enjoy eating at regular intervals but that doesn't make us blood brothers either.

Because wkers just are. You're best bet is being resilient, not crying about it and thinking anyone gives a st.
Err... I think you'll find the majority of motorcyclists feel a connection or bond for their love or interest in motorcycles. Perhaps your alone on this one, if you feel we dont or shouldn't. Still doesn’t explain why you frequent BB with thousands of posts if you don’t feel a bond??

You second point is just rubbish to be frank. We are British and it's our culture to be polite. You sound like an American or a bitter Glaswegian! wink I think your just trying to excuse people being impolite s.

You go ahead.. we truly have nothing in common and obviously differ in character. In the main it's this attitude that has been the thorn in GG and now permeating the oasis that is BB.

We don't need it.

This is brilliant and I'm with Prof on this one. I drive more than I ride, so where's the suggestion that as we all drive we should be best buddies too? I nod to other riders on the road and am polite(ish) to others when they come over to talk. However, I'm also blunt when I come across dheads IRL and on here. I got bored of people asking me mechanical questions about my bike when it was new, so I walked away with my helmet on to stop that happening. I also got bored (and still do) of people telling me that I can't ride bikes, because mine has ABS, TC and anti wheelie where there's doesn't. I'll take that off people I know and who can ride faster than me and that's it.

Why are people so precious all of a sudden? I grew up in an environment where if I was wrong I was told I was wrong and it was explained why. I wasn't cosseted and wrapped in bubble wrap, so as not to offend my inner Scouser. Stop being so fking wet about it, bunch of shandy drinking southern poofs

I think there is some resistance by some to feel we all have one thing in common due to the diversity of bikes and the way people identify with them, it's a mini version of Mods and Rockers. thats because you bought the wrong V-Rod, its an A and you should have got the DX or an F, at least an AW would have had more cred or maybe a B, D or X...but not an A ..wrong variant dude, you are not in the clique wink

It's why the M25 is always at a standstill. Everyone has stopped for mutual masturbation, "because they all share the same interest".

The A is the original, nearly a classic already ...I bet its not going down in value like a Jap cruiser, that's for sure

Definitely a Lone Ranger bike though, the Harley pirates don't want to ride with you because you are too fast and don't breakdown, and your mates with sports bikes think you have got old and bought a cruiser wink

There's enough of us on here to have our own V-Rod clique anyway smile

I'm sorry to piss on your cornflakes comrade, but I think you'll be surprised how many are just like me... I felt like that when I first passed my test, and felt like I'd been initiated into this wonderful club, but soon realised it was just as full of wkers as every other clique. That however doesn't mean I can't be entertained by the forum, especially knowing many of the characters here. Some of which are pretty insightful, experienced, or unstable, so are enjoyable to interact with.

I'm not saying don't be polite. But I am saying when someone is being a , you tell them so, and that is a double edged sword. We all are dicks sometimes and need to be told, but don't cry about it, speak your peace and come back with no grudges. You may not like this attitude as it is hard sometimes, but it is open, and honest. I think that is the best way to interact with people.

Yeah, the Night-Rod is a cool bike, one of the more popular variants. Not sure Id want to do city traffic daily on one though, the wheelbase is nearly a foot longer than a Hyabusa, so you need to plan ahead with directional changes ...great fun off the traffic lights though
