I really don't give a fk anymore, this place moderates itself, we all know each other pretty much, most of us meet at trackdays or ride outs.

It only becomes a farce when car drivers come in here to tell us that a BMW 335d is quicker than a bike or that bikes are uncool as they are super fast in their family hatchback.
Why the 'us vs them'? this is pistonheads, a place for lovers of everything with an engine. This isn't a safe haven for you and your mates unfortunately

So you want somebody to stand at the door 24/7?
Doesn't need a person.

They could just have a long list of peculiar reasons they'll surround people in their store who don't want to play by their rules. Then all those people hassling them, trying to give them money, will know they're not welcome in advance.

You can't say people should play by their rules or leave, but not give them the opportunity to decide to leave freely after hearing the rule of the day from the supermarket manager specials board.
Exceptionally well put.
Banks have a sticker on the door asking bikers to remove their helmets, if that doesn't suit, well that's tough you knew before you went in.

so why when its pointed out the reasons as to why a biker might do this does no one ever go "ah ok that answers my question". No they ramble on with an opinion they know nothing about.

Perhaps you're too stereotypically PH to visit a supermarket but you will find they all have security guards stationed at the entrance/exit.
To take your point about armed robbery.
a) An armed robber would tend not to have his full face showing.
2) An armed robber wouldn't go to rob Morrisons and think "awe fk I need some milk, I'll go and buy that before I rob the place"
iii) Armed robbers tend to be armed, not holding a bottle of milk in one hand and a pound coin in the other.
d) An armed robbery at a supermarket is highly unlikely to happen at a check out, attack the security van taking the takings or the fag counter which is usually situated well for an easy getaway and will have loads more money.

Now for my part you're more than welcome to hang out with the cool kids here in BB but please think logically about what you are writing not just appear to have a contrary view point for the sake of an argument.
I see all of your points but I was talking purely on the emotional affect that seeing a person approaching wearing a helmet can have, especially if that person has been on the receiving end before.

But the OP was wearing a flip front helmet with the front lifted. So his face was clearly visible?

That reminded me of Gary the Tank Commander, "your just a man, wearing a dress, selling a cooker"
For some bizarre reason.

Oh and stop being so obnoxious.

It's a misinformed guess, especially if you account for my faffy fingers. Besides, I can't have some yummy mums seeing my helmet-hair and clammy brow.
Really?

I've never had an issue removing my crash hat. Maybe you should start buying skimmed.

Morrisons are notorious for this and there have been many similar incidents over the years. I never take my helmet off for the many reasons listed above and I never fill up in Morrisons because of this.
If you were wearing an open face helmet and they STILL acted like you said then it sounds like they were all a bunch of incompetent bell ends on a power trip.
A stern letter to head office and never go there again.

Offtopic slightly (and I agree with you ref taking helmet off so don't kill me!) but what the hell does custard mean? Someone literally posted 'custard' on my thread and I've never seen that on a forum before confused

The way I see it is it's their store and therefore their rules, you have a choice once informed of the rules to either a) leave b) play by their rules and get you milk.

Those saying particular styles of helmets should have different rules and not considered the training aspects as many, well probably most would not know one type of helmet from another.
I agree. If you don't like their rules, don't shop there. That said, I find it a real PITA if I'm asked to remove my helmet.

You don't need to be "in the know" for helmet styles to make rules that work easily. A simple rule would be:

If you can't see their face, as them to remove whatever is covering their face.

This will then apply equally to wannabe cowboys who wear their neckerchief over their face or traditional robbers who wear a mask and carry a back labeld swag.

You really are scraping the barrel of waffling ste now.
That maybe so, but my wife worked in retail for many years and has seen exactly that first hand.
1) If you make up a rule it's your job to enforce it or at least adequately alert people to it. Most petrol stations have magnetic locks which can press under the counter for example.

2) More importantly, your past life experience does not give you a right to physically intimidate customers as they are trying to leave you shop.

If you doubt a poster that's making a claim you ask for custard in a photo as proof that this is him, his car. Lap time etc
