The tyre deforms more where there is a tread cut into it.

I think its because you've been power sliding out of corners on full lock.

That was my initial thought, but I don't know if it quite looks right. Maybe catching on chain guard/hugger?

It's not rubbing on anything.

Interestingly it's only on the left side as well!

Did consider the shock, but not sure atm

You sure it's not the chain rubbing? Wider tyre/ misaligned wheel/loose chain??

I'd be worried about the missing spoke in your rear wheel.

Weird.

First thought was wheel alignment, but like others, I've never seen anything like that before.

Perfectly sure fella. Alignment is all spot on...

Got the tyre / suspension guy to have a look at it on the track day and his comment was 'fast rebound'... wink

Couple of issues with that..

1. it's only on the left. Suspension issues would show on both sides.
2. The spacing of the 'cuts' would indicate a really high frequency. Which would mean the rebound would be skipping uncontrollably all the time and the entire tyre would show signs of rebound issues, like raised sipe edges. Yet the sipes show nothing of the sort..
