You are based in Scotland, Edinburgh to be exact and you are starting a new job on the 11th of this month which will leave little time for biking.

You have three days to enjoy the twisties of Scotland.

Where do you go?

Bonus points for probability of bumping into birds with massive milkers.

From Edinburgh you could do most of the country in 3 days, surely?
Depends on how twisty you like your roads, if you mean fast sweepers then that's a different itinerary to some of the lanes we did a couple of weeks back where a safe average might have been 35mph. I'm not saying that's the speed we did whistle but let's just say an R1 wouldn't have been my first choice.

I am doing this exact trip with a friend starting tomorrow morning! We're going:

Day 1: Edinburgh to Skye
Day 2: Loop round the top and down to somewhere just north of Inverness
Day 3: Meander back to Edinburgh.

From Edin south to Hawick then pick up the A7 to Carlisle, take it from there.

That might take too much out of the first day as we're planning a lap of Skye when we get there. It's my friend who is Edinburgh-based (I'm driving up there tonight - five hours!) and he's planned the route.

The last time I was there we came down the A68 and up the A7 which was fun. But he claims the *greatest* road in the world is the A835 up to Ullapool. I've yet to try it but I imagine it may feature this weekend!

It's not. The other side of Ullapool past Scourie is even better.

I think we're doing that road as well as we're going all the way to Durness! We've been looking forward to this trip for a long time, it will be AWESOME!!

That's the road, enjoy. Blasting over the bridge at Unapool is a high spot for me, it's massive & built as a corner.
