PBM has been world racing (GP's) and got his fingers burnt, fed up with lack of support from Dorna, he quite. Dorna also own WSB, so I doubt he'd jump back into bed with them quickly.

To go WSB racing would mean quite an investment in tech that isn't used in the BSB paddock, which is a signficant barrier to entry even for a well funded team. Also, as has been said, the need for track familiarity whoudln't under estimated.

As for Guigliano on PBM Ducati's, I doubt it. I think he will give Irwin another year. Better to spend the money on developing talent and crash repairs than big salary and crash repairs for little more success.

BSB has faced far worse outlooks than this. It will survive, it has proved adaptable before.

Whilst the Fx impact of Brexit anxieties continues to carry on, then the weak pouind does little to support racing. However it does make it more attractive for foreign investment as they get relatively more for their money, so perhaps we'll see some more European support.....

That what I was thinking initially.. but it doesn't really make sense for Shakey to be excitedly announcing his team mate is going to be Giugliano.. I'd of thought Shakey would want to keep Irwin, why would he want a team mate that could potentially challenge him for the title?

If this is what's happening I wonder if Irwin will lose his seat or if it'll be a three bike team.

Good points Johno.

I searched google a little while ago for any news and under Shakeys site name the text shows a possible announcement within the last hour, yet I go on the site and can't see anything..

My sources tell me it's nothing to do with PBM team and more to do with someone who Shakey manages. So I'd say Jake Dixon to WSS

Makes sense to me..

Caught up with the WSSP and second WSB races last night, and was thinking there's no way Shakey would go to WSB, as that would mean giving up his job on Eurosport as well! Which I imagine is something he'll become further involved with once he decides to retire.

If a option to race in wsbk on a competive bike ( and competive is the important bit) and get a decent wage he'd be gone in flash.

The bsb ride and the presenting will always be there in the future , a good wage paying ride in wsbk won't.

He probably earns more in BSB than 80% of the WSB paddock added together.

Jake has a contract with Lee Hardy Racing.

Shakey is staying with PBM, but the rest, well, ill leave you lot to wonder

Guinters has signed a pre contract agreement with Hawk & Suzuki for BSB, but has a decent offer on the table from IODA in wsbk, to run same spec RSV4's as SMR.

TAS need a championship challenger, theyve been told one rider at least in the top 3 and both riders in the showdown or TYCO pull support for 2018.

Rutter looks likely to take bathams money back to Quay Garage and run in bsb with Farmer either in stock1000 or his team mate in bsb, on the new blade.

Haslam is also an interesting one, rumour has it KHI were impressed (rightly so) with the job he did at Qatar with pedercini and have said they will supply a 3rd factory bike (in the pedercini team) for him if he wants, and JG Speedfit seem keen, so that could be a way back into WSBK for him.

He's been there and done it, with little success if you rate it fully. Don't under estimate the impact to family life and the demands beside just racing. Shakey's been around the block more than once and unless its such stupid money that no one could refuse I don't believe he'd go back versus being the biggest fish in a small pond and the chance to be a 6 times champion.

Im with you Johnno, Shakey said a few years ago he wants to set the bar so high no one lese can touch his record in BSB.

Plus I think he actually enjoys the series.

WSB would be a long old grind in comparison, hes getting to old for that.,

If the BSB twitter account is making a big thing about an announcement at 9am tomorrow morning it can't be about WSB surely?

Any news on Brookes?

I expect Haslam will take that WSB ride if its on the table, his contract is with Kawasaki anyway isnt it? So I don't suppose they'd be fussed whether he was riding in BSB or WSB, then again they are already having enough success in WSB..

Whats going on with Hutchy? Is he coming back to BSB for 2017? Tyco?

The difference being his last go at wsbk he was on a uncompetitive bike , if this time around things have fallen into place to try again with a decent bike i think he'd give it a shot.

What would be a competitive bike though with both kawasakis and ducatis spoken for? Would need to be one of those two to tempt him back surely.

Anyone know what's been announced yet? I'm not on social media so patiently waiting on here!
