There is that, plus I'm not so sure an RT is prime theft material? Maybe, maybe not, big and heavy to lump in a van.

It's just that if it's there every day, it becomes a little more obvious to them. I had one taken from near London Bridge in 2006, it was all but invisible from any public place (road, pavement, etc) but they still found it and had it - I guess they knew where it was parked and just waited for a convenient day.

I'm not going to drag the thread down into a standard-issue BH slapfest, but just to be clear:

1. If you look back, you'll see that I haven't disagreed with any conjoined twins anywhere on this thread.
2. You're dropping the t-bomb, not me.

Anyway, on a lighter note, anyone watching any good films this weekend? I think I'll watch this one again, haven't seen it for a while:

GPWM, I'll stand up to that one. Wasn't how it was meant but I see how it was received. Mea culpa.

Rode my KTM in today... parked in the street. I feel the same as you after this thread. I have chained the bike to a post. Its unbeliveable the anmount of attention the 690 supermoto gets from the urban scooter mob!

Its also uneblieveable that I havent learned to change gear while doing a wheelie or improve my second gear wheelies from a limp wheel raised. frown I need to practice as just by having this bike I should be a wheelie superhero. I'm not frown

Maybe if someone steals it I will be let off the hook?

Sadly enduros and SMs are probably the biggest target for the kids. Mate of mine parked his EXC outside a café window, turned his back to order a brew and by the time he turned around it was gone. Another mate was with him, they jumped on his bike and rode around and couldn't find it. Never saw it again.

I suspect the kids pinch them because they consider that style of bike both fun, & suited to urban hooliganism, which of course they are! Sportsbikes go because of their break value but that will be more the pros and not the kids.

Well either way...

I'll get good at wheelies or some scrote is going to be off with it. Someone will solve this, I hope its me.

My real problem is I dont practice enough (dont ride enough) as I always look for appropriate places and in the urban environment there are few places where people, police and other road users arn't about.

I need to be more fecking hooligan and not so father of four sensible!! Grrr...

It's not aimed at the guy who's had his bike stolen. It's aimed at those pushing for stringing them up / chopping their hands or balls off etc. I just find it amazing how ridiculously OTT these threads get. It's insured, he'll get paid out and buy another one. It's annoying, but hardly the disaster it gets portrayed as.
The insurance will go up...

Sure, his fault for leaving a bike "unsecured". rolleyes

I'd love to be able to wheelie but me and the VFR together weigh about as much as a brontosaurus. Front end only came up once during a panic acceleration in 1st gear and I've never managed it again. Then again a VFR isn't a hooligan bike and I'm 40 and should know better.

Still, maybe I'll go to the wheelie school that BvG went to. Starting on a quad bike seems like a sensible way to learn to be an idiot.

40 huh... well you were still in your 30's last year fella wink

I would go to the wheelie school and practice in a safe environment. All I will say you just need to overcome the natural panic or instict to keep the front wheel down.

I have been doing wheelies for a year now. I have gone from crappy power wheelies to doing 2nd gear ones on my fireblade with clutch but still inconsistent. Its a great skill to have and one which is much more fun then it looks.

They look fun but they feel twice as fun to do.

WTF are you going on about? I've not mentioned insurance. If you think his insurance should stay the same, then why should it go up for when I crash mine into a tree, or lowside it going round a corner. His insuramce goes up because he's made a claim where the outlay can't be recovered. It's always been that way amd always will. Nobody has even mentioned "unsecured".

I dunno, the KTM is an awesome bike in its own right and fits well in the RJ fleet. He's going to need a bigger garage soon at this rate. He gains bikes like I gain kilos! bigmouthburger

This thread is gayer than the gay police rider thread and that's officially as gay as cum on a moustache.

This must be as gay as a Michael Barrymore house party
