Hey folks, seems my Monday trackday will be wet. I have a set of spare wheels with wets so going to use them. I searched various forums (including PH) for tips, this is what I gathered:

- Use tyre warmers for 15 minutes prior to use
- Build up speed
- Smooooooth riding/lines
- Aquaplaning still possible, so be aware
- Once track starts to dry, stop riding!
- Enjoy!

Anything else, do's/dont's, experiences?

Don't use tyre warmers on wets, you'll fall off when the tyres cool down and your not going fast enough to keep the heat in them.

Be surprised by how much grip you have got, I was amazed but it was on a drying track.

no tyre warmers, and 2 laps warm up, 3 if you are stuck behind people who are st slow in the wet. Remember that..... If you have spent essentially two laps going at sighting lap pace, when you clear the field don't suddenly think they are up to temperature.

The word "amazing" or "incredible" is often overused but my first time on wets was totally amazing and incredible. Love them, would use again.

If the track starts drying, use puddles to cool the tyres.

If your bike is torquey you can just leave it in a high gear and ride round the outside of people who aren't on wets.

Get right off the bike, you need to get just as knee downy as you do in the dry, if not more so.

Plus a Scott Johnny suit to keep warm and dry(ish) and a yellow visor if the light is bad.
